GDT 2/2/08 Anaheim @ Philly

I had to start this with the top 2 fighting teams facing each other

4pm FSN and listed on HDNET(will prob. be blocked)

Both Teams with 44 fighting majors maybe just what this team needs to get back to last years mindset.

Hiller Should be starting

Hope Sutherby gets a chance on that 2nd line instead of Bochenski who has been more useless then Miller

Philadelphia will probably be amazed at how little the Ducks actually try. I look forward to a pointless fight between Parros and someone where he falls after 5 seconds. After that it will only get better when someone on Philly runs and injures a Ducks player and then the rest of the Ducks do nothing... And then Philly wins!

poor Anaheim, judging from the date on this thread, the Ducks had to play two games in one night.

Two games in one night, that would explain why they look so tired on the ice...

While a rational person would expect a game between the two teams tied for the lead in fighting majors to be rough & physical, I have my doubts. The way the league has been going the past few years it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Bettman was racing back & forth between the locker rooms warning everyone that if so much as a check is thrown tonight then the entire team is suspended for 10 games....

Oh well, hopefully it will be a good game one way or another & the Ducks can get one of those elusive W's into their column.

I'd almost accept an effort like last night if we were playing as a split-squad like MLB teams do during spring training.

The Anaheim Ducks will have to wait a little longer for Teemu Selanne to make his season debut. There's no question they could use his help right now.

The Ducks look to avoid their first six-game losing streak in over two years on Saturday night when they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Philadelphia Flyers for the first time in almost six years.

Because he's quoting USA Today:

After they were outscored 8-2 in losses to Los Angeles and Minnesota in the first two stops on an eight-game, 15-day road trip, the Ducks (27-21-7) were much better Friday in a 1-0 shootout loss to St. Louis.

Yeah looks like Selanne will make his season debut on Tuesday.

Expecting a low scoring physical game today.

Parros vs Cote

Ducks have an uphill challenge tonight.
They will have to play gritty, focus and work hard for a full 60 minutes.
Defensive lapses and penaties will kill us today.

Cmon Ducks -fight hard !!

As other pointed out Teemu will likely play the Islanders.

Despite my pessimistic tendencies and at the risk of jinxing the team, I actually have a good feeling about this game. Normally a team ends a slump after a game or two where they should have won but end up losing. Maybe St. Louis was that game. The team seems in a pretty good mood that they played a good game yesterday too. I also expect the physicality of the Flyers to force the Ducks to give a full effort instead of sleepwalking through the game. I expect a much improved effort, and hopefully at least a point.
