I like that Dallas is starting to rediscover it's defensive prowess of old. This is two straight nights that Dallas has simply kept the other team in their own half of the ice for the last 5 or 6 minutes of the game (leading up to a frantic final 60 seconds). That can only be good news. The Dallas Stars at the beginning of the year would have fumbled away that lead and ended up losing in OT. Thank god for Jere Lehtinen
So how does Sarich drop the gloves and grab Ott and not even take a roughing call.
It's not just this game. Ott gets roughed up all the time with stuff that would otherwise be a penalty. I think the refs are starting to see it and think to themselves, "Well, he did deserve it" as they decide not to call a penalty.

Yeah, that was quite the B.S non-call, though. Should be automatic. For God's sake, Calgary had 14 minutes of penalties. Throw the Stars a bone there.

Ott was a masterpiece..I loved it when Ott cleared Iginla out of the crease in front of Turco....I loved the left jab by Turco also!
Really, I think the punch to the face he took after skating away from Sarich was the worse offense.
That type of cheap shot is only a penalty when a netminder does it to a player in the crease, apparently.
One thing that startles me which is only debatebly against the rules: Turco was basically reaching for a loose puck just on the lip of the crease no one had a chance to bat in at one point during the game and run over by 2 Flames skating through (the puck went by, fortunately). I'm not suggesting reintroducing a crease rule or anything, but I think there should be some slight protection for that type of thing. A player bowling over a goaltender should at least get a stick on a puck, right?
Still, I thought we deserved more penalties than them. But when it's 7 to 1 penalties, the missed calls sting more.

To be fair, he often does deserve it.
But they should call it nonetheless. A penalty is a penalty, whether it's on Ovechkin or Ott.
In my honest opinion Calgary outplayed Dallas but Turco was the difference. Can't really fault Kipper on either of Dallas' goal. Question for you Stars fans? Who's #2 on your team? Such a brutal non-call by the refs on that play where he pushed the net off and of course two seconds later Conroy scores on that play. Such a bush league play.
There are these things called rosters freely available on the internet. Check em out.
#2 didn't push the net off on purpose. Watch the replay, he's staring at the puck and face plants himself into the post. It's pretty funny actually. It still should have been a penalty, but it wasn't intentional.

Grossman. And he was bumped from behind by Ott. That's why he fell and knocked the net off.
