Perhaps Malik and Montoya or Malik and another prospect/pick for a physical, stay-at-home top 4 Dman.

i think once henrik's locked up you will see montoya moved, but not in a blockbuster, but more like for an avery type player.

That player doesnt exist.....

Tampa ready to deal Boyle....interesting

I still think Sather will explore Forsberg simply because they could get him and give up no assets.

Want: Two defensive upgrades ousting both Mara AND Malik.

Think: One big defensive upgrade IE. Campbell, Boyle, Kaberle, Kubina, Witt, Souray, Liles, etc. Using a combination of one of Mara/Malik, a D prospect like Sauer, Baranka, or Potter, and a 1st/2nd.

I believe the forward unit is gelling at an alarming rate and may stop Sather from dealing off assets for that area and force him to worry strictly about the D.

Enough of this draftpick, panic **** I want a ****in Playoff Run!!!!!

Campbell = too costly in assets and to sign next year

Boyle = what does Tampa really want? Is he able to really play?

Kaberle = keep dreaming

Kubina = meh

Witt = interesting. How Sather would get the Isles to trade him to NYR would be even more interesting

Souray = injured again

Liles = Hes struggling, and the Av fans think he's Bobby Orr or Rory Fitzpatrick. At least on these boards = too costly imo

^ haha

But seriously, I don't know anymore. These last 3 games were unbelievably important and we came through somehow... which I did not expect.

Unless we lose the next 5 I don't see us dealing any vets right now.

The only thing I can see happening is Malik getting moved and replaced by a more mobile and reliable defenseman

Oh, and I honestly wouldn't mind Forsberg right now, but only if we can get him for cheap ($1.5-2.0 million) and we begin to struggle again in the next few weeks. Otherwise, let him go elsewhere

Anyone else I miss? Gotta hope that we're not going to think we can compete with a bottom pairing rotation of Malik, Mara, and Strudwick.

I'd be willing to give up Baranka, Malik, and a 2nd for Liles. We'd even get a pro-rated cap relief percentage of 1.1 million.

I don't see us making any big deals for any so-called "impact" players.

I think Sather is looking around for some extra depth on D, specifically someone with mobility and perhaps a good shot from the point. We have good enough depth in the farm to fork over some prospects for Boyle or Liles, but I don't think Sather will be breaking the bank for Blake or Campbell, or Hossa for that matter.

I think we will see Malik moved eventually. On top of the fact that he gets booed everytime he touches the puck at MSG, his attitude over the past few weeks has left an un-needed sour note in the lockerroom. I do believe he has some value on the market, and he could provide a team with a decent defenseman who's game will improve with a change of scenery. The fact that his contract runs out this year is an added bonus. He should bring back at least a mid-round draft pick, not a struggling defenseman with a big contract.

How Holmgren can go to Sweden, meet face to face with Foppa and still know NOTHING about his feet, his more definitive plans to return to the NHL etc. = B*U*L*L ****

Somethings foul in Foppaland

1. Holmgren wanted to tell him face to face the Flyers have moved on

2. Foppa baffled him with ******** while his agent gets him a new gig

I kinda think Renney likes this team the way it is minus Malik

I can see Malik moving, along with a player/prospect hopefully for a solid D-man for now and next year, no telling whats gonna happen with Rozy.

With the salary cap and parity in the league, it's getting harder and harder to make trades, plus teams are to close in the standings to take a chance right now.

please no forsberg, But If you have the ability to land a guy like Hossa, you go for it.

1. The days of smart ranger trades are gone with don maloney going to phoenix.

2. Rangers will sign Forseberg because slats loves to take chances on damaged players.

3. I don't see the rangers trading any youth for rental players like hossa because slats will be hung for it and hossa doesn't fit under the cap anyway.

4. Don't forget that slats anounced jagr's availability at last years deadline, that may be more serious this year if jagrs numbers don't look promising. Then of course he could come back to the rangers as a FA

I don't want Forsberg to be a Ranger.

If anything, give me some more <25 guys who can skate hard through their shifts and compete.

Maloney in Yoteland is still a concern.

Jovo at the deadline is very much still a possibility.

I don't think much will happen. Slats will try to get other clubs to overpay, and they won't. I don't expect anything big. If they cannot find something to improve on Malik or Mara, they will keep them. I don't see a deal for a forward, unless Jagr is moved.

Shanny and a pick go to the Flames for Tangauy.
Straka goes to Colorado for Liles
Malik goes somewhere for a pick
Hossa is possibly added to one of the above for extra pick.

Rangers line up down the stretch:
Avery - Gomez - Jagr
Tangauy - Drury - Prucha
Dawes - Dubi - Callahan
Hollweg - Betts - Orr
Byers

Roszival - Staal
Tyutin - Liles
Girardi - Mara
Struds

funny you mention trading for Witt. I was playing NHL 08 and moved Malik at the deadline and the Icelanders offered me Witt and Hunter. LOL. I made the deal in 3 seconds.

say we sign forsberg, was drury a RW or LW on Forsberg's line in Colorado? maybe we put Forsberg and Drury together, and keep Gomez and Jagr together.

Tampa gave me Boyle for Malik, Hutchinson and a 2nd. Ended up being pretty nasty paired up with Rozy. lol

But really, I can't see Sather making a huge move since the team has really started to play well as of late. I could see a possibility of Liles and a 2nd for Mara, Montoya and a 3rd perhaps. Anyone else is going to cost us too much. Boyle has come back and instantly made an impact with the Bolts, so I can't imagine he'd come any cheaper than a scoring winger, top prospect and at least a 2nd.

Why would the Rangers trade Toots or Girardi? I can't see them trading Dawes, either. So yeah, I totally disagree with you.

Honestly, I'm thinking nothing happens as long as the Rangers keep winning.

Which they will.
