Given our play of late, fat chance keeping Ovechkin off of the board. If the team is as sick as the Dispatch says they are, it will be a very defensive game for the CBJ.

Going tonight!

May stop by the RBar.

3 - 1 Jackets

Z, Z, Z
and the other Russian for the Caps.

Russian gunslinging tonight, we know Z plays great when he plays these guys.

You people need to cheer up, not sure why you are so down on the team after 3 games. You guys would think 3 games was like 7 losing seasons or something.

No matter who wins this one, it should still be entertaining.

If we lose, we probably got to see Ovy look magical, and we'll likely get another humorous cliff-dive thread or two.

Weee.

Go Jackets.

Haha good call WO.

In my big money pool I have Ovechkin, Semin and Green so I'm hoping for a big night from them. (if we don't show up)

The way the Caps are playing of late and the type of player that Ovy, Backstrom, Semin and the like are - well, the Jackets don't match up well against high-skill types. Must pummel them, and pummel them hard.

Two things I found Interesting on Portzline's blog today about this game:

1. Dick Tarnstrom is still in Edmonton. Skating with WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings and waiting for his paper work to be processed.

2. Rick Nash has bronchitis and apparently left practice because he was having trouble breathing. Apparently, some other players are having troubles breathing as well.

---------------------

About this game, I really want to see Brule score a goal tonight. The guy is a shooter and needs to build up some confidence. I still have faith that he can turn his season around.

Ovechkin is the draw tonight, those going are lucky folks. It's a must win for both teams, we are 2 games over .500 and they are even. The Jackets know they need this game badly so expect a dogfight regardless of illness. Leclaire is the guy who needs to be focused, if he struggles it will be a long night.

CBJ 3-2

I don't see us winnign if Nash is not out there to give us a little chance in scoring. Z can't do it alone.

6-1 Caps.

Expect a big night from Zherdev, coupled with the Caps horrible defense and weak net minding.

4-3 CBJ.

Good news is that Portzline says Pazzy looked very sharp in practice on Monday. We are going to have to play very tight around him to win this one.

G Pascal Leclaire gets the start for the Blue Jackets. He wasn't very good in his first two games back from the All-Star Game break. Hitchcock said he looked much sharper in practice on Monday. I'll take his word for it.

Good news, Leclaire has been a big part of our winning games this year, we need him.

If the Jackets have that many (8-10) players battling bronchitis, then I'd say they are in for a long night. If they battle through it and get at least a point out of this game, I'll be content.

Bronchitis sucks; been there and done that way too many times.

Will be there tonight!

OT - Lived in Annapolis Md many (many) moons ago and several Caps players lived in the same apt complex. They were always crusing the complex in rollerblades! I wasn't into hockey then so, I never tried to find out their names. They were cool guys though...would smile and say 'Hi' to my kids as they flew by.

4 -2 Jackets

Remember when a certain other Eastern Conference Russian came into Nationwide in December and was all hyped up?

Remember which Russian exploded that night?

Z takes over tonight.

In looking at those lines, and after watching Peca and Novotny this season, I say we have three 3rd line centers. Brassard doesn't count yet because he hasn't played enough to assess.

does anyone anticipate this game being hard to get into? is it another typical tues. nite game or a top-seller b/c of AO?

Should be pretty crowded because of Ovechkin, and it's also all you can eat night I believe.

Z was extra jacked with Kovalchuck on the other side of the ice.

I'd like to see that and then some with the other super Russian in the league.

Show us what you got, Z.

I fully expect one of two things tonight:

1: The Jackets come out mad, angry and stomp the hell out of the Caps and win something like 5-1

OR

2: They roll over again and lose 6-2 with Ovechkin scoring at least a hatty.
