they make it pretty exciting, especially for Columbus fans. its the home team broadcast...its not necessarily meant for everybody else. they just have fun with it and im fine with that.

anyway fantastic opening period. wow. best in a loooong time it feels like

I agree. I love how excited the two of them get. They sound just like we do when they score. They get into it and truly love announcing the game. While there may be "better" announcers out there, I don't think I've heard a pair that gets as excited as these two. Even though I may be in the minority, I enjoy listening to them during a game.

It's also amazing what happens when you skate, and outwork the other team. Nash's goal was all about hard work and skating. The whole team should take notes.

Meh, same old same old from the officals... That same exchange is done 10-20 times a night and the officials felt the need to call it because who was on the receiving end.

Foote was probably a little over-agressive, but with no consistancy on the calls you never know when they are gonna ask you to take a seat. The officals don't even know.

The second one was the one that I hated and it was the right call by the officals.

Either way I guess the officials felt the end to even up the 5 on 3, I didn't see the second penalty but the first one seemed legit.

Not a bad period, excellent goals. Hopefully Chimerra figures out that moving toward the net is a good thing and puts you in posistion for the rebounds. How many times do we see that rebound with no one in close to the puck?

I just like the energy and the lack of panic in our own zone. This is more like Jackets hockey.

One of the reasons I love hockey is that things can happen in a Flash.

100 other times Nasher is stuffed.
100 other times Chimmer misses that goal.
And the season and fans is in doubt.

But suddenly....we got our mojo back.

Gotta love it.

Agreed, that's how Nash needs to lead the team...

that's why I don't like them (and the Jackets are my 2nd favorite team...I'm not just here to complain). I don't want a game in November to sound like Game 7 of the Finals. You don't hear guys like Keels announce a 5 yard run by Beanie Wells like a game winning field goal.

Watching the replay of Nash's goal, I just noticed he out-skated Ovechkin into the Caps' zone to score that goal. So much for the great Ovechkin.

Hopefully we push full metal when we come out of the gate
I don't want to sit on a 2-0 lead, I want to build on it
I will be thrilled to see us do that, something we have been lacking recently

Have I mentioned how awesome that breakaway goal by Nash was? Seriously, he buried that one, no fooling around trying to get cute or anything, just a slam bang. Great goal Nasher....

Awesome first!!!!

Just as he did in december, I'd LOVE to see our goalie get more points than the other teams star.

That, along with winning tonight, would just rock!

I think the Caps fans are a little too cocky. To quote one of their fans:

"losing to this team would be comical"

I agree, it's hard to figure the game out with GM going nutts all the time. I wish he could even it out a bit, so he has somewhere to go when things acutally do get exciting.

I also liked the "Caps are playing down to their competition" post, too.

Maybe they should check the standings.

Is this the first game that FSN has that picture-within-a-picture? I don't remember seeing it before.

Not too mention their own division. One of the worst in the NHL while the Jackets play in one of the toughest.

Man, the Caps are all over us here in the early 2nd, aside from that chance by Peca.

Don't sit back boys, 2 goals is nothing in the new NHL. Get 6 goals and then you can relax a bit
