Big game Tues versus the Sabres. A win puts an end to an ugly two game slide, a loss makes it seem like we are sliding.

I have faith in the guys and think they will come out with a big effort. It will be interesting to see who plays with Rib's. I, like most figure it will be Balej, but Julien might have something else up his sleeve.

Also wouldn't be surprised if garon got one of the starts vs the Sabres or the Wild.

From canadiens.com.

Koivu, Brisebois, and Rivet battling the flu but should play.
Dackell remained in Montreal this week for testing.
Souray took a shot off of the foot against the Leafs.
Juneau still troubled by a bad back.

All expected to play except Dackell.

I vote that we let jl.roberts do the game thread every game. Out of respect for his great work doing the threads, as well as out of respect for his Copyright "You've Been Zednified!" phrase. So please, wait for jl.roberts to make the game threads, until he gets fed up and decides to bestow this sacred privilege to another worthy poster.

I don't think there's too much for Gainey to make waves with unless he's willing to part with some good talent like Koivu, Theodore, Souray, Komi, Markov, Ribeiro, Ryder or some of the excellent prospects in the organization.

How big a wave would Perreault, Kilger or Rivet make?

Another must win situation. Buffalo is a team that they can beat. They have to stay out of the penalty box and they have to give the puck to sourray, cause I notice that during this mini slide, souray did not get asmeany shots as he did during the winning streak. Go balej, its youre time to shine!

also we seem to lose more often when someone else do the GT , so please let jl.roberts do the job !! well unless the game is started and no thread have been made yet ( like heritage classic game :p )

I’ll predict:

New Theo for Vezina, Souray for Norris and Ryder for Calder threads – 3
New Fire Julien, BG get of your ass and do something, Trade Koivu threads – 1

In other words… we win!

I think the lines should be slightly differentl.
I like Ryder playing his off wing. If you look at most of his goals this season you'll have a hard time finding many where he scored from the right wing. His biggest strenght is his snapshot and it is most effective from the left side. However it will an adjustment for him when it comes to the breakout. Also I think we should leave Zednick on right wing for the same reasons we should have Ryder on left wing. So her are my lines
Ryder Koivu Balej
Bulis Ribeiro Zednick
Sundstrom Juneau Kilger
Langdon Perrault Dackell

good thread Jl. This is going to be a big game, and not just for Captain Sak.

I predict the beginning of a hot streak with a 4-2 victory tonight.

Word on the street (in Victoria) is that Ribeiro is going to fight Hecht (who called Ribs 'ugly'), while Souray, having broken the shaft of his composite stick and blowing a sure-fire goal, will throw Daniel Briere over the netting in a fit of rage but will not receive a penalty as all four officials missed it. Briere, meanwhile, having been mistaken for a bobble-head doll, will be taken back to Rimouski by a visiting Hab fan as a souvenir and will not be heard of again until the Habs are in the second round of the playoffs.

Claude Julien should try to match Balej (RW) vs. James Patrick (Buffalo LD). Balej's explosive speed would really look awesome next to some of the slow Buffalo D (Patrick is the worst of 'em. At least according to a friend of mine who follows Buffalo). Against a relatively weak Buffalo team, our 2nd line could explode offensively. Especially if you consider Buffalo is coming back home after an exhausting road trip. So, Balej has a great opportunity to showcase his talent tonight. If he wants to impress, it has to start with tonight.

With Boulton out of their lineup (injured in fight), expect to see yet another Peters vs Langdon bout. And with Komisarek possibly on the 4th line, we could assist in several 4th line vs 4th line match-ups. Buffalo (read Lindy Ruff) is like that. I even remember one of our games against them earlier this season, they started the game with their fourth line (and 2 heavyweights) on the ice.

Should be a great game tonight!
