Wow, I never watched the game...

I seen that Betts' time on the ice was around 5 minutes, and I knew something was wrong.

what happened?

Appeared to be a knee on knee hit, but it looked pretty innocent.

hmm was it the reason why the rangers let up 4 goals?

also, if serious, call up tommy pyatt?

I think not having Betts (sand Holly) did hurt the teams's defense, but everybody else was kinda pitiful defensivel..

I don;t think Pyatt would ever be a consideration now....He's Hartford's 3rd or 4th center and needs a lot of developing, let's be patient with him...Maybe Moore..or maybe they go outdide if Betts is really hurt

If Betts is out they are going to have to go with somebody and if it's in-house Moore would seem the most obvious. Maybe Dupont.

Renney would just move hollweg to center. he has shown no reservations in doing that in the past.

does that mean a 4th line of Byers-Hollweg-Orr...

Although if Betts is out for an extended period maybe a 4th line of Byers-Hollweg-Cally or Byers-Cally-Orr when Shanny is back. Maybe instead we go for a little more offense in the 4th line and see if Byers and Cally can recreate some AHL magic.

I mean w/o Betts this line cannot be looked at as a defensive line now. Hollweg and Orr arent that great defensively. Betts was the MAIN reason for good defense on that line.

If Betts is out for a while, it definitely won't be Pyatt or Dupont that get the call. Dupont hasn't played center at all for the Pack this year. Both are a ways off yet in terms of development.

My guess is that Renney will move Hollweg to center, or possibly juggle the lines to move someone like Straka, Cally or Avery to center. If there's a call up, my money's on Moore or Korpikoski.

I disagree, Hollweg's forechecking, Betts and Holly in the transition zone and the positional play of all three in the D-zone were just as big reasons..But that is besides the point..I agree that if Betts is gone, you can not use the 4th line as a defensive line and Renney will have to use it more like a usual 4th line...I don't like Holly at C, but Byers-Holly-Cally might provide alot of enrgy ifthey are allowed to play that way..Unfortunately then you have that tripod Orr on the 3rd line...

Now here'e a really scary scenario...Malik comes back to play D and we have a 4th line of, ahem...

STRUDS-HOLLY-ORR!!!!!!!

More then likely though, I would guess Holly-Moore-Orr or perhaps a waiver wire pick-up or trade for a 4th C IF Betts is out

Korpikoski played centre in hartford, but i doubt he plays centre in the NHL, but anything is possible.

I doubt we make a trade. We have more than enough youth to try and find something that works. And I also don't mind Struds on the 4th. I like him there more than as a defenseman.

Strudwick is an NHL'er on a deep team, not ours.

We may not make a trade just to fill in for Betts if it is a 1-2 game thing, but if it is a long term injury, I have no doubt that we will make a trade to bring in a vet forward (who can also PK) as well as an upgrade on D....We do have youth, but almost all of it belongs in Hartford--keep them there..

Yeah, but so has Moore. Moore has looked awful each game.

Byers should've gotten a 2nd game at least.
