I'm positive when there's a good reason for it. I'm not a cheerleader needlessly praising the organization for every move regardless of merit. I'll leave that to folks like you.

Look forward to the pictures of your meal.
You offer up some serious praise, Capn. That's the best you got? You should be slightly embarassed to have dredged those up.

You know my point. And I know yours.

The Jackets are absolutely perfect. Admit it.

If Chimer's deal is a budget buster, than this team has far bigger problems than we ever imagined.

We'll see.
Chimmer's deal alone won't bust the budget. But like I said...
"if he overpays other players like he has Chimera"

Word. Some people have trouble grasping that concept. Not everything a franchise does occurs in a vacuum. There will be good moves and bad moves. There will be times to be critical and times to praise. There will be times to boo and times to cheer. Being overly positive on a constant basis isn't being a fan at all.

Think about it, would you give your kid a lollipop for bringing home an F on their report card?

In these days of no spanking and positive reinforcement for failure, the answer is usually "yes."

Don't mind me.

Embarassed? Seriously, I'm just sad that in a season that started off so promising there hasn't been more for me to be positive about.

If fans of this team are content with mediocrity there will never be any reason for ownership and management to provide you anything more.

Hence the signing of Chimera for 4 years.

Ah, the definition of a fan. How big of a toilet do we need to flush this one?

Gimme a break. Have some guts and tell me I'm not a fan. Go ahead.

And whatever overly positive means is something I would rather be than what you and Cap'n are: The exact opposite.

I'm absolutely certain each person on this website is a pretty hardcore fan--We're just different shades of crazy.

Like me for instance, I have Jason Chimera's face tattooed on my butt cheek.

I'm professional grade buddy!

There needs to be warning labels for posts like this when you're reading at work. I had to bite my hand.

Not my best work, but it was there for the taking, and I've never been one to leave a line out there, no matter how lame.

And God bless you for it, mate.

Anyway, let's see Chimera pop a couple goals tonight against his former team in his first game after the signing.

Modin had never had a serious injury until this season.

I haven't really made any comments on the signing, so note that this doesn't personally offend me. But I just needed to say I am so sick of people using this line. Why is it necessary to attack the poster and not what they post? If their opinions are so full of holes or out of line, it should be easy to disprove them. Also, I hate when people use that term when others are simply voicing their opinion. It's just an easy way to act like "I'm right and you're wrong".

At the beginning of the season Hitchcock said that Chimera looked to be setting up for a break-out year. Now, granted, Hitchcock says a lot of things ... but I think he believes 90+% of what he says. That's a fair amount of truth telling by any one human. Chimera has stepped up since the news of his extension and made Howson and Hitch both look pretty good. He's settled in on the second line with Peca and Z, is getting all kinds of chances and making good on those chances at important times. Lots of games and plenty of time left for him to make good on Hitch's prediction.

Well played

Anywho, I'll agree, Chimmer has played well since his extension... SINCE HIS EXTENSION! Maybe they should just "extend" his contract by one game every week so he keeps this up.

EDIT: That, or he could get hair "extensions", hopefully working to the same effect...
