I was surprised when he didn't fight Lupul when he was challenged, I think he could have beat him easily. He needs more self-confidence.
I don't care if its hockey, if you can avoid a fight, avoid it. Especially a guy like Lats, since you don't know when he'll score. Little known fact about Latendresse: He has 12 even strength goals on the team, which is the team lead. When we have such a tough time scoring on Even Strength, why do you want to see the guy with the most ES goals on the team in the box for fighting? Moral victory?
We need to draft one of those guys next year and make sure he plays for Dale Hunter to get the spirit of the doberman in him, like with S-KOS.
I mean, look at S-KOS. He came over he was your run-of-the-mil figure skater with a stick. Dale Hunter grabs ahold of the kid, and now he's ready to die for the cause.
He would be an excellent choice. But I don't think Phoenix is in any hurry to get rid of him. If I read correctly this morning, he was sent down to work on a few things, not as a punishment.
It's actually punishment for losing his temper too many times.
Laperriere is not an enforcer, just another version of Begin and Kotsopoulos. Same for Tootoo.
He had like 17 fighter majors last year..................He will drop the gloves with anyone and he can chip in offensively............best in the league.
I think the fact that we have to turn the other cheek because we have no one who can respond to them does hurt us. they basically have free reign against us and eventually someone will get hurt either fighting with them or via a cheapshot or hit. I dont recall ever seeing so many cheapshots committed against our players as this year.
if another team sends there enforcer out to go run around against us he can because we have no awnser. if we had an enforcer he'd either go out and fight that guy taking him of the ice for 5 minutes plus or he run around after there good players in return and that stuff would likely not continue next time. it's more about sending a message than anything and helps guys like Komi from being targets for the other teams goon because there is no one else.
off course a guy who can drop them with the best of them and play would be ideal but who are these guys and how are we going to get them.
This goon is so monstruous, he's the kind of player I'd like to see as our #7th defenceman, dressed for all the games but playing only between 5 to 10 minutes a game. With him, Bouillon, Kosto and Komi will be able to concentrate on playing hockey.
And if Tampa Bay has won a Stanley Cup with Andre Roy taking stupid penalties on a regular basis, why wouldn't a real goon fit with the habs ?
We need a goon badly and not a middleweight like Downey or Langdon, we need a heavyweight that specializes in beating the holy hell out of people. Andre Roy would be perfect, he's big, tough, mean and he's got personality.

Peter Worrell...he actually scares people unlike Roy.
