NYR - Thrashers Trade Proposal

I got 2 trade proposals with Thrashers for some help on defense.

1) Chris Tamer to Rangers for Jan Hlavac? Would this be good deal. Maybe on a weak team Hlavac can thrive. Tamer would add some help, I liked what I saw when he was here the first time. He can be physical and good leader. He wont cost much.

2)Ivan Majesky and Ben Simon to Rangers for Jan Hlavac, Pascal Rheaume and the rights to Martin Richter. Would this be a good deal? Majesky is younger and bigger than Tamer and I feel Majesky would be a good partner for Leetch. Ben Simon is a role guy who good on faceoffs and sticks up for teammates and is young. What you think?

We've been down that road already with Tamer

I don't know enough about Majesky and Been Simon to comment on the other trade.

But Theo Fan, we've been down this road before with Hlavac as well, at least Tamer brings something we need more...
It's not like we'd miss Hlavac's scoring

We were also down the road with Hlavac, but he still came back, and did even less.. In tamer's case, I think he's proven to be a pretty serviceable 6th/7th guy.. An upgrade to Pushor and Purinton as far as "physical" or "stay at home" defensemen IMO..

Don't know squat either about Majesky & Simon..

Man, maybe Edge said it, but Pushor looks exactly like Karpa. Just a little skinnier and taller. Then you have the ECHL skills.

I think the question is, why do you think that the Thrashers would want Jan Hlavac?
Trade value = 0.

In the proposed deal, we're getting 0 trade value.

I like the second deal, but I doubt Atlanta would do it. They recently traded a second round pick for Majesky and thats more than Hlavac, Rheaume, and Martin Richter combined.

Drop Hlavac, the Thrasher don't need him. Try a pick or a prospect.

Is there any interest in Yannick Trembley (http://www.atlantathrashers.com/PlayerBio.aspx?Levels=1|1|0&PlayerID=32)?

I saw Martin Richter play for Sparta in Prague. He was invisible. In my opinion he's not good enough to make it to the NHL. I think the rangers would have to give up a lot more than the proposal for Majesky

Do you just think that Ranger fans are just as oblivious as Sather?

if the rangers did a trade like that, it would only be to set the nhl record for re-acquiring former players.
