Dallas really needs to calm this thing down, and get playing in Minnesota's end we can't relly on Smith to shut the door every time one of our players doesn't feel like making the extra effort to break up the play.
Niskanen still needs work on cutting off passes and around the net awareness, but tonight in puck battles and doing the little things to get the puck to a teammate or out of the zone he was almost dominate(didn't want to use that word, but I guess 75% of that I suppose can be considered. )
It was interesting that he was being double shifted also for the most part in the third.
Speaking of the little things, I highly doubt the Stars can hold on in a game like this without Lehtinen. So many pucks along the boards that got out of the zone because of him.
I disagree with Norstrom having a "great game", he had a good game, but I guess to each its different.
I agree about Robidas, he was playing the simple game, most of the most part the defenseman played exactly how they are coached, the defensive zone positioning has improved alot, but still needs more work to become great.
I thought everyone on the defense, including to my surprise, Daley, had a good game. I wouldn't say anyone was great, and the rookie who had a slightly off game (IMO, of course) was Fistric this game. Niskanen was the guy who got burned on the Gaborik break, but he recovered and heck, it was Gaborik. He certainly wasn't dominant at any area of the ice, but he was solid and that's all you want out of your rookies.
I bow to Mike Smith. That was a heck of a game from him.
