They have played quite well in the past two years after it was obvious they were out. There is chance (because we are closer than ever before at this point in a season) they could run 10 games in row thinking they are out then get totally surprised by making it...
Do other clubs mix up the lineups like we do? Or do they have solid, set lines that are used day-in and day-out, with minor changes only due to injuries or scratches? It seems like every game since the All Star Break we've had drastically different lines.
I was watching Habs vs Leafs prior to this game, and I noticed Montreal has pretty much used the same lineup all year, they have a very young team like us, and good goaltending, great defense. Difference is they're 1 point behind Ottawa for the top seed in the East, and the Jackets are about to drop to 12th in the West. Their top line is consistent of Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev, they don't change that every game.

Most teams don't have 8 forwards on their team that are shockingly interchangable.
Brass, I know you've been playing steady, but you were brought up to be a playmaker who can chip in goals, Please, if your linemates aren't cutting it, just shoot the puck yourself.
Nash: I know you still might be a little under the weather, but you outplayed and outworked Ovechkin on Tuesday, You and Nikki are this team right now... let it carry over to tonight, take over and show why you are an allstar.

We need a win... badly
Brass is out with the bug tonight. And no, I don't mean that he's hitting the Arizona bars with Stinger. The only thing he'll be shooting is Vick's Formula 44.

I can't say that I know or have any examples. But it does see seem as though top seeded teams have names I am familar with playing together most of the nights I watch.
I'd say off the cuff winning teams keep their lines intact much more than losing teams. Why change lines around if your winning right?
I hate this line matchup. Wonder what others are gonna be very different?
I think its about time Fritsche got some love. He's one goal behind Chimera and 4th on the team but hasn't played more than a period with Nash or Z all year. Fritsche and Nash along the boards could create some chances.
I just want to see Fritsche get a chance with a top 6 player and some power play time to really see what he can do.
Is Lindstrom going to play? That could be a fun line.
Listening to Rimer mention Chimera's contract reminded me of a post in another thread, he's only missed a couple of games in the last couple of years. That is something to stick a feather in your cap. Guys that are durable come in handy during the playoffs etc...
Man, that hit on Nash was a crime! He could have gotton a broken neck. Then that sucker punch on Tollefsen....oh boy, there might be a bench clearing before this game is over.
