God DAMMIT, I'm so sick and tired of being down 1-2 goals after 1 period, Vokoun has let us down the past 2 and a half weeks, give him a rest management, it is time to give Vokoun a rest so he can get his head and **** together.

yep, mason should get the next 2-3 starts, or until he looks as if he is unable to go any longer (not in "starter" shape)...

and do something to vokoun..i dont know, take his pills away, switch them with something else...tell him he sucks...i dont know, but hes gotta get back to playing the way he did last season, or at least more consistent like he was earlier this season.

I agree as well. Vokoun is not holding down the fort, yet we still give him all the starts...

Why?!?!

I agree too.

Our next 3 games: Washington (Friday), Edmonton (Sunday), Columbus (Monday). Mason has shown he can play and play very well so there should be no hesitation to let him start Friday and if he plays really well, let him start Sunday and then have Vokoun go on Monday (unless he still looks lost out there).

it's funny...a few of us have blamed his pads for the rebounds\weak 5-hole...

well, now he is, too:

On the rebounds, someone called in on SportsNight the other day and asked Pete if Vokkie was hesitant to freeze the puck because of our horrible face-off pctg. Makes sense.

His chances are probably as good as relying on the faceoff.

Painful, but true. . We need a center that can actually win a freaking faceoff.

yeh, with the way Vokoun gives up long shots from the blueline, I have to agree here.

I think that even Vokoun knows he needs to take a game off, and I would put all of my money on seeing Mason on Friday.

And one that doesn’t get thrown out of the circle almost every time he takes a faceoff.
