Tired of Lapierre?

I am...

I think he's a non factor since his call up. I'd like him to be more involved physically, but he's just flotting around shooting on the net with his weak shot.

If he was the only option, it would be alright, but we have a guy named Chipchura in Hamilton. He's really better in all aspects of the game, except speed.

At this point, I would swap them...

Wow. This is just pathetic. At least put the effort into the Koivu thread. This one isn't even remotely merited. Tonight was the first night SINCE his call-up that I thought he played poorly for half the game.

He's putting effort, but he needs to think more offense, defense is good but I think he should score a bit more.

the guy NEVER passes the puck.

He must think he's a superstar.

I blame Hamrlik for being injured.

I just think he's not fulfilling his role properly. He needs to do more. I know he's only a 4th line player, but I can't see how Chipchura wouldn't be an updrade on him...

My problem with him is that he's not gritty enough. So Chip wouldn't be the guy I would think to replace him. I wish Lappy would go in there and hit to hurt.

Forget that, he doesn't even LOOK for a pass. That's all I'm asking for from this guy. A simple LOOK.

I think both Chipchura and Lapierre are at the same stage of their development. When Chipchura's cold streak will end (or wasn't he injured?), he will be back with the Habs.

The way he reaches out with the stick and then tries to puch his a$$ into the player makes me think of Zednik...we all know how many he scored doing that. Missed more than he ever converted, at least that was his game though.

I have always said Lappy is expendable, players like him are a dime a dozen. Difference with him and Chip, Chip is a leader and Captain material and has more offensive upside and a better 2-way game.

maybe if he played with the same linemates once in a while... it would help.

Well, for starters, I haven't seen him cough up the puck so outrageously as Chipchura did in his last few games.

Love Chip, but he's not perfect yet.

But clearly, center isn't Lapierre's natural position. I know he always played there, but he would fit way better at the wing where he could hit, forecheck, etc.

I'm with you on this one... I don't doubt Lapierre's potential to be a great player one day but right now he's playing poorly... He seems uninspired and is often caught floating around and rarely finishes a check...his whole approach to forechecking is wrong...hopefully he can pull it back together because i really like him but right now he is having some problems

That could be said for all 3 units that get split every other game or even in games.

Carbo isn't helping his own case in winning or getting players going if no one has chemistry with one another.

This I agree with. He doesn't think like a centerman. Put him on the right.

I agree, but guys like Tender, S. Kost and Lapierre get the shorthand of the stick by getting what isn't on the Koivu line at that moment...

The kid line was pretty nice, then, it had to be changed because Ryder was going to be benched. it goes on and on.

What do you want him to do? We don't have a second line, he tried Higgins-Koivu-Ryder for a while, didn't work. Changed a few things, didn't worked. He can't break the second line, it's our only good one.

So, to get a second line going, he has to try things. We need a trade at this point...we are good, but we can be better.

Laps is worthless right now. Weak shot, no skill, NO PASSING. The guy just never passes. And to top it all off, hes not playing his role which is the role of a pest. He's just there.

Yeah...I don't understand why either. I thought he was a pest since his first steps on a rink. He can get under opponents skin, but he don't want to

it's funny, I think he hasn't been the same since that "not dropping the gloves" incident that the Mtl media so conveniently blew a fuse about.

Never liked him... He can't hit (never really saw him hit someone hard like BRISEBOIS tonight), he can't agitate, he would not drop the gloves in front of the other team's healer, no skill, no shot, very selfish and he's got a face I would like to punch.

He plays the gritty grinding style, that's what he's there for.

I think some people here compensate for their lack of hockey knowledge by *****ing a lot.
