Marty Lapointe

They (announcers in the Calgary Chicago game)were talking about the possibility of the HABS getting Lapointe at the deadline.Thoughts,I think he gives us some muscle and expierience.

I don't want to land or attract any overestimated, overpaid 3rd line material.

He still has that ridiculous contract??Nonetheless you could probably get him for a bag of pucks......he hits, fights, and can still play.

He's too slow for the new NHL, cripes he's a 4th liner on Chicago.

He can go back to the bruins for all I care. I hate him since he chose the Big Bad Brooms.

Nope. He used us years ago.(though I'm kinda glad cause the Bruins overpaid so much...lol )

Added to the fact he sucks. Hopefully he is never ever a Hab.

Maybe when he was with Detroit...not now!

Just another 3-4 line player ala Smolinski, Begin and Co.

That's exactly what we need. More 4th liners to go with Begin, Dandenault, Smolinski, Kostopoulos and Lapierre.

I'm pretty sure Bob and the management haven't forgotten that one!
I know it's a business and emotions can not (or are not supposed) to get in the way...but some things like that you simply can't forget!

Pass.

The only way he would be useful is if tie games were decided by a benchpress competition. Even then he's paid too much to be a press-out specialist.

im really glad to read all your responses regarding Lapointe. I hated the way he used the Habs to get what he wanted in Boston. I also couldnt believe he chose Boston before the Canadiens even though the Habs had offered more money or longer years (i dont remember which). His excuse was Boston having a better team and a better chance at the Cup...Nothing was sweeter than eliminating him and the Bruins twice in the playoffs during his stint there.

BIG NO FROM HERE....

washed up, worthless, and not what we need.

He's not a sniper and he doesn't win faceoffs... He's a bottom six winger at best, a fringe NHLer now.... He's no better than what we have in Begin, Kosto, Dandenault,

Send a message via MSN to beowulf
I did not want him all those years ago when he signed in Boston and I want him even less today. He has nothing to offer this team really, maybe his playoff experience but even that is years ago and does not justify his salary.

The only good thing is he may come cheap and he's only owed another 800k then becomes a UFA...so if it's cheap it won't bother me.
