Pretty excited about this game. We could use another big win. If we can get the solid D and goaltending we had last night, we should have a chance. I'll say 4-2 Jackets. Nash, Z, Brassard, Hejda for the good guys. Shelley and Shelley for the bad guys.
When Shelley returns to the Nat, do you plan to applaud/boo/act indifferently?
I think anyone who boos that night better be afraid for their health. Not only would most fans disapprove, but the home team as well.
I think Jody would be willing to fight, but I keep thinking that any Jacket who sought out a fight with Jody would lose some respect in the dressing room--especially Boll. Maybe in a year or two, but not in the first few games.
Tonight will be a fun game...it's a win/win imo. Few are expecting us to win, including myself, but if we do win there will be a small crack in that playoff door. It will be an exciting game to watch...
In thinking about tonights game the thought of a close game crossed my mind, which lead me to think of this:
I came accross an interesting approach to the shootout strategy recently. It seems logical goalies spend some time reseaching players who are expected to take part in the shootout, you know, their breakaway habits, skill etc.
I don't know for sure but I'd assume they don't spend so much time researching guys who are never chosen for a shootout. Could putting a guy out there for a shootout who is an uncommon shooter be an advantage? Just a thought.
