I've got a better idea - there's an unsigned, yet already highly-accomplished Montreal hockey player who is available and has yet to even hit his 18 th birthday. No joke. We should sign this guy. This click here to find out who.
THey have the money, and they wouldnt have to give anyone up.
I can just picture him doing wonders with Koivu.
I'm assuming our Swedish Scout, Pelle Eklund, didn't really see Brunnstrom as worthwhile of the money and guarantees he was asking for. This will be a good test of his judgement if he told Bob and company to lay off this one.

BINGO...we got a winner...I think the right question in this instance is: Are the Habs going after FB? Why does everyone assume BG isn't trying to sign this guy or make a trade for that guy, etc...do you see any other GMs out there wheeling and dealing? Don't give BG a hard time for being quiet when the entre league is dead silent.
People need to stop kidding themselves. He's not going to be a star. There's the remotest possibility. He's a good player in the swedish elite league. There's EX NHLers who are at the top of that league.
He wants to also play with a team that will give him decent ice time and that's not going to be Montreal. Even Sergei Kostitsyn doesn't get that much time on the ice compared to the rest of his teammates.
Anyway, even though there about 20 teams going for this kid, I just don't see Montreal winning the lottery, I doubt he's going to put up the numbers here as he would in Dallas, Detroit or San Jose.
