Keeps for Next Year

I am not sure who to keep for next year because in my eyes there are many player that are almost equal. I want to know this early because I would like to trade some of my players to try to make a run this year. Every night starting are 2 centers, 4 wings, 4 defence, and 1 goalie. I can keep 15 players. Below is a list of players on my team:

Guys I plan to keep:
1) Demitra C
2) Ruutu (Tuomo) C
3) Horton C
4) Elias C/W
5) Zetterberg W
6) Morrow W
7) Frolov W
8) Redden D
9) Klesla D
10) Turco G
11) Luongo G
That leaves 4 more spots. I think I should keep at least one more defenceman.

Guys I would also like to keep:
1) Modano C
2) Stefen C
3) Svitov C
4) Conroy C
5) Smyth (Ryan) W
6) Hartnell W
7) O'Neill W
8) Carter W
9) Johnson (Mike) W
10) Markov D
11) Johnsson (Kim) D
12) Schultz D
13) Leighton G
14) Salo (Tommy) G

Another question I have is if I should trade Stefen for Bret Hull. If I did not keep Stefen, I would shurly make this trade. However, I do not know if I will keep him. Thanks in advance for your help and for reading this long thread.

I would keep O'Neill, Smyth, Hartnell, and Johnsson.

The Stefan for Hull deal looks pretty nice for you as well.

If you are set on keeping those centers, here's who I would keep on that list... O'Neill, Smyth, Hartnell and Kim Johnsson. Like the guy above mentioned. The Stefan for Hull deal, yea, not much to lose there, Hull's having a great season and Stefan is struggling, as always and I can't see him ever reaching his potential. With Modano sitting on that list, as much as I'd like to keep him, you are set on your centers so try and package something like Modano and something for a top defenceman?

Should I do This trade?

I get:
W L. Nagy
W M. Lapointe
W B. Burns

I Give:
W M. Modano
W J. O'Neill
W R. Smyth

Right now, it looks like next year I would have kept O'Neill and Smyth. But are they worth Nagy? Then I could keep another player. Who should I keep? Will this trade benefit me this year do you think. Will Nagy continue to play great? Thanks again. I will probably make the Stefen for Hull trade.

Personally would not do that deal, you are giving up three players who are playing below their possible playing levels... Nagy is far from a sure thing, solid, but Lapointe and Burns seem a little overrated... Was not too impressed with Burns' at the WJC and in Minnesota he won't have much offensive flair. Modano, O'Neill and Smyth can all be 70+ point players when they are on, Modano more so than that. I think it's a bad deal.

What about Elias and Smyth for Nagy and Lapointe (who I definitly wouldn't keep next year). I think Elias is valuable because he is a C/W and he can play center until Horton/Ruutu develop. But Nagy is one of the best young wings to have. Is he worth it for my team? (By the way I am still waiting to do the Stefen for Hull deal.) If I should do it, then who would I keep?

What about this one?

I get:
S. Samsonov
6th round pick (around 83rd)

I give:
A. Svitov
N. Schultz
4th round pick (around 56th)

If I would make this trade, who should I keep?

By the way, if you do execute this deal you'd probably want to keep Samsonov over Morrow.
