Anyone have any memories or video of weird goals that changed a game or won it?
I remember a Hawks/Northstars game where Jon Casey was in goal and Dirk Graham had a semi break away, shot the puck and the defensmen got his stick on it and deflected the puck into the air, casey was challanging so he was out of the net and thought it went out of play, so hes skating backwards to the net and the puck falls behind him and bounces a few times lands flat and goes past the goal line by about a quarter of an inch to give the Hawks to lead to win the game.
1990: Flames vs. Kings. Krusher somehow shoots the puck and by the way he slices at it, it goes in an arch just out of the reach of Mike Vernon and just under the post. You watch the replay on that one and still wonder how he shot it like that.
Opening game 2002-03 season, Nashville at Washington: Peter Bondra has a breakaway in the third period and takes a hard shot that goes over the net. It hit the glass with such force that it bounced off, hit the goalie in the back, and went in. I don't even think Bondra saw it go in....I was there and I know I didn't.
Game 7, Pens vs Buffalo. Pens down 2-1 with less than 10 seconds to play. Kovalev shoots a puck that is deflected like 20 feet straight in the air. Th epuck lands in the crease and Lemieux buries it with only a few seconds left to tie it.
Kasparitas wins it in OT
It is much better in slow motion. The puck is in the air and Hasek or the defender dont see it, Lemieux spots it but pretends like he doesnt see it untill it lands
Tops all time has got to be game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in 71. Blackhawks were ahead midway through the 2nd period & dominating the Habs. Lemaire lets go a floater from centre that went over Esposito's shoulder into the net. This changed the momentum to the Habs who went on to win.
This one didn't change a game, since Calgary still won, but this is one of the strangest goals I've ever seen. Flames/Oilers from the 84 playoffs. More remarkable than the goal itself is the little faerie dance the Oilers do to celebrate:

That goal is reminiscent of a goal from the 3rd period of the Game 7 Quarterfinals, OTT vs. Buffalo from 1997. Ottawa is leading the game 2-1 in the 3rd period when Redden off the faceoff does the same exact thing and puts the puck into his own net. Derek Plante got credited with the goal, and then scored the winner in OT to cap the series, becoming the first player ever in the playoffs to tie the score to send it to OT, and net the OT winner.

The Lemieux goal is from Game 6 with the Sabres leading late in the 3rd. The Pens tied it with that goal and won it in OT with Straka.
Kasparitis won the game in OT in Game 7.
I still have nightmares about that Lemieux goal, since the Sabres were just minutes away from the ECF, playing a Devils team they were 4-0 versus that year. They had a better team in 2001 than the Cup Finals team two years earlier, and I would have like to be believe they would have made it back.
Weird one was when a Wild player shot the puck and it went up Walz's pants and since Walz was jammed into the crease at the time, the puck was over the goal line...

You've got to be mistaken. In 80 years of playoffs before that, someone else had to have done that before.

I would believe you, but after that game, that stat was repeated ad nauseum that it was ingrained in my head. I do know that someone has done this after Plante did it first in 1997, but I couldn't tell you who.

We Blue Jacket fans are still irk'd by that stupid goal.
How can you call it a goal if you never see the puck go over the line? has to be conclusive, right? HAHA. Not when it's against the Jackets, I suppose.
It's not as if they knew it was at the bottom of his pants. For all we know, it could have been in the part of his pants that were out of the goal.

It looks like Joe Sakic did in Game 5 against San Jose in the 2004 playoffs.
Anyone know of another player who has accomplished this feat since Plante in 97'?
EDIT: Unless I'm misunderstanding the criteria here, Plante couldn't have been the first player to do it, because Eric Desjardins scored the tying goal and the overtime winner in Game 2 against Los Angeles in the 93' Finals.

Good memory.
I do remember a stat though being repeated over and over regarding the fact that Plante tied it and later won it.
He may have been the first player to tie it to send it to overtime and score the series winner. I am not too sure what the stat was, but I do remember it was of distinction.

You might be right there, Desjardins was just in Game #2. Hmmm, I'm trying to think but of the top of my head I cant recall
