Druken is 2 years older than Hossa. I don't see the whole "Hossa has time and skill set to make it" thingy.
I'll say it again. I would not make this trade this season, but to pick up for Druken.... what has Hossa done to warrent the "better player" label?
Are these numbers that bad?
1999-00 Vancouver Canucks NHL 33 7 9 16
2000-01 Vancouver Canucks NHL 55 15 15 30
2001-02 Vancouver Canucks NHL 27 4 4 8
2002-03 Vancouver Canucks NHL 3 1 1 2
Christ, we have 6 or 7 forwards that could only dream of a 15 and 15 season.
I'm not sold on Hossa, but I'll take his potential over Druken's one good season (which coincidentially is growing smaller in the rear view mirror). In terms of age not being a difference - At the very least Marcel's got an extra two years to prove me right/wrong on his potential, a luxury the 25 year old Druken does share.
