So you are Dino Sisto, hehehe.

Listen, Kovalev is with the trainer to get some help. He's been with the trainer every game during this road trip. Means only one thing: he's got some nagging injury.

You added that he says a lot of bullcrap. Not me. Why then do you think he says a lot of bullcrap? Talk to me.

Listen, I'll keep it short 'cause there's no reason to argue about this, but McGuire called a lot of things that turned to be bullcrap. Sadly, I can't give you an example right away, but he said one about 2 weeks ago.

Good for him if he's right, but I doubt that it's a serious injury, probably minor if any.

i have noticed kovy has been a lil off too, hasnt played awful.. but he has had problems with the puck, hasnt been able to keep it on a string like usual. Maybe it is his hand/finger!?

Sure its his hands. He lost the puck like crazy this game. Lecavalier slash retaliation? looked like a mean one.

i heard it was his fingers...
he tried to slip his hands into a woman's purse....

Honestly though i remember thinking a few times (including tonight) why the hell is he losing the pucks so much...Kovalev is one of the strongest players in the league in dangling the puck and making it look like the puck is actually glued to his stick...it hasnt been like that the last few games

Let the man rest a couple of games so that he comes back stronger for the last playoffs push.

Opinions can be right and opinions can be wrong. Good for you for having one.. but in general, Martin McGuire is one of then more credible hockey guys in the city.

He has been playing hurt for a while not practicing, and always with the medical staff after the game.
He is a warrior.
I really hope the Habs clinch a playoff spot before those last 2 weeks so he can have a nice rest.

well, it's not so much of a joke :

He said in an interview that the first 40 games were always alright, but that for the last 40 games, he was feeling like he was being stabbed in every limb after every game... something to that effect...

Habs has always been an average team because of lack of starpower. This year Kovy played great and suddenly everything clicks, we're fighting for first place, Komi looks like Chris Pronger, Huet making saves is not even an issue. I saw Kovy's play drop during the Caps' game. And was wondering what was happening. And from there his play became less and less inspired, he was like the Kovy of last year(even though he was scoring on the PP). At the same time we started to play badly game after game after win or lose. It was like a whole different team. The Habs are nothing without Kovy. Plain and simple.

His injury could be lower-body as well, I noticed that he's not as fast on his skate in the last few games

If the team can't make the playoffs without Kovalev for a little while they should just forfeit any chance of doing anything this year.

It's obvious to me that he has had some trouble stickhandling since the thumb injury after his best game of the year, I think it was the first of the two Washington games. They may be freezing the thumb to numb the pain, but it has a subtle effect on puck control.

Didn't he get a slap shot on the hand recently and there was worry he might have to miss some games? Then he didn't...

Could this be it? The timing sound right.

Kovalev seems to be fine, by spurts. Every once in a while he'll dig in and skate hard to get the puck, power around the other team and fire a quick hard shot at the net, and other times he tries to slow the game down a bit and makes too many fancy moves and he loses puck control. But I don't think it looks like he is hurt....and if he is hurt, he should sit out for a couple of games and rest his injury.

Just saw him at la gare Windsor, at 8AM! They must of gotten in late last night so it's pretty cool he still got up to go to the blood drive they are having there. Was all smiles and such, didn't see any other player but I was on my way to work so I didn't stop to look. First time I see him live, man he's big!

That picture makes me laugh everytime I see it.
