Most Man-Games Lost In a Single Season?

Does anyone know the record for the most man-games lost in a single season?

I think LA had a season a few years ago where they lost 500+. I'm not 100% sure though

That's who I was thinking of when I saw this thread.

2002-03 or 2003-04 LA Kings.

This came up in another thread recently.

In 2002–03, the Kings just missed breaking the unofficial NHL record for the most man-games lost to injury in a season with 536. But they would easily surpass the record in 2003–04 with 629 man-games lost.

Holy Hell...that's the equivalent of having almost 8 players on IR for the entire season.

The Habs broke the 500 man-games lost to injury too, but nothing like what the Kings had to go through. That was just off the charts.

I think it was the same year they were 2-3 points out of a playoff spot and the same year Vigneault finished runner-up for the Jack Adams.

Ex: When Heatley was injured and missed 11 games, that's 11 man games lost.

The Kings lost 629 games. One player can contribute 82 games in the season (since they didn't make the playoffs). So basically, the equivalent of almost 8 players who were supposed to play that season didn't due to injury.

I remember the Capitals of the mid 90's to early 00's used to always have crazy injury problems.

For the amount of time you spend in the HOH forum, I'm surprised at you Mr. Bundy. 1 game lost per player injured.
