The Fan 960 re-played an interview this afternoon Peter Maher did with Darryl Sutter during intermission from last night's game, and one of the things Sutter mentioned was that he didn't plan on making any trades/moves that didn't benefit the future of this team.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind being moderate sellers. We're inconsistent and don't look a whole lot different from last year's team. May as well pawn off Huselius and Langkow now rather than look like fools when we get dominated by Detroit/Dallas and both walk.
We're buyers. Our window to win the cup has been closing since 2004. This will be our 3rd try at it and Sutter knows that. He'll buy, or at least try to. He usually doesn't do much for the deadline but I can't see him dealing away top talent unless we're getting some back. He's going for the cup now.
Unfortunately, I don't even see us dumping wasted salary like Primeau and Warrener either next week.
