Glad to see Glen getting these things done, and the players and team coming to reasonable agreements that give the team flexibility moving forward.

when you look at what mara and malik are making to play most games on the 3rd pairing...tyutins deal, is exactly that, a deal

sather gave the one to malik, and boston gave the one to mara......

but for a defenceman who is still improving.....i would say 2.75 is a pretty good deal......especially over 4 years

Right now the Rangers have $31,735,893 committed to 12 players [Gomez, Drury, Lundqvist, Tyutin, Prucha, Girardi, Staal, Dubinsky, Callahan, Betts, Orr, Hollweg] plus the $760,000 Jagr will get for the non-renewal of his option. Hossa is arbitration-eligible this summer, but he's not going to get much more than his QO of $819,000. Pock will likely be back at only $667,500. I'd expect Sauer [$846,667] or Sanguinetti [$855,000 since his contract will slide] to be on the roster next year. Byers [$608,333] could be up as well as Anisimov [$821,667 after his contract slides]. A backup for Lundqvist could be had for about $725,000 [or a hair over what Montoya's QO would be]. Dawes could be brought back for about $546,000 [his QO].

That leaves the Rangers with enough cap room to go plug the holes they'll have. Sure, it'll be a little tight and they'll have to commit to the youth, but certainly it's not dire by any stretch.

they have enough money to sign both of them. the question is, do they want to? Rozy is going to get at least 5m, and Avery is going to want close to 3m. The team may feel that money is better spent elsewhere.

no offense guys but rozy will get a contract that teams will probably regret. He can get up to 6M prob in open market. I dont think he is worth that much personally.

You're not offending anyone. A good number three defenseman is not worth what he will command, which will be something in the area of 5-6 million.

Michal owes the Rangers a discount. That's the only way they should bring him back. After Pittsburgh cut him after the lockout ended, the Rangers were one of two teams(Vancouver was the other team)to offer him a NHL contract. They gave him an opportunity to get his NHL career back on track. If he didn't receive that opportunity,he would playing somewhere in Czech Republic right now.

His agent Rich Winter can be difficult to deal with at times.

Fedor is a Ranger draftee. He was the first player in the building process. He is family.Called up in 2004 right before the purge.A 24 year old top 4 defenseman making a shade under $3 million.

haha yea i remember that. I was so excited, because there was so much hype surrounding him for years. And then when he scored his first goal on a 5-3 pk, I knew he was the real deal.
