OK, dudes. Assume for a moment a world of pure fantasy. That's right, a King's team that's completely healthy:

Deadmarsh-Allison-Palffy
Frolov-Stumpel-Klatt
Robitaille-Armstrong-Straka

Which, of course, would leave AM a very hard decision to make regarding everybody else:

Ebay, Lappy, Avery, Brown, Barney, Charts, Sim, Pirnes, Cam, Brennan, etc.

Look at the forwards that DT has given this organization and attempt to tell me he's not GM of the year.

Our defensemen, however, is another story..........LoL

If Deader and Allison are healthy, this team cannot afford Straka and would not have traded for him.

Assuming in agruendo that Uncle Phil spends some of his billions and keeps all these players on the roster, I still don't remotely see 9 top-6 forwards. Klatt and Armstrong are solid 3rd line forwards but not top-6. Robitaille is usually top-6 to start the season and then tails off to a 3rd line forward towards the end of the season.

I think if you flip-flop Straka with Klatt on your lines, you have an excellent 1st line, a quality 2nd line, and a solid third line. Ahhhhhh... dare to dream.

if deader, palffy, and allison played this year, i doubt armstrong would be the same force. we only noticed him cuase he has been taking the team on his shoulders ever since the team went down.

so in some ways, good things have come out of the injuries. i think we have found at least 2 good players in armstrong and barney, with pirnes, brown, and cammy coming up behind.

if everyone had been healthy this season, i think that the lack of defensive depth would have been addressed through a trade.

Not true. DT was given the go ahead to aquire a top six in the offseason(a deal was in place for Fedorov), and Straka at 2 mil is a bargain.

DT tried to makle a couple of trades for D men and got out bid or the deals fell apart. DT can be guilty of doing nothing because he won't over pay.
That is a good thing and a bad thing

where do u guys get this stuff? from lgk? cuase i swear, nobody has ever "cleared" him to get a top 6 except LGK. and unless i'm mistaken, they have little to say in these matters.

edit: Thanks, SuperSam, I knew I'd heard it somewhere... I don't read LGK anymore, so I'm sure I didn't hear it there...

I think if Deadmarsh/Allison had been guaranteed back in the lineup, they would've adjusted (and downscaled) that plan to address other needs. They say they'll spend the money if it makes sense for the team... but top dollar players (or too many fairly-high salaries) don't seem to end up making sense for them, so I doubt we'd have Straka right now.

If everyone ended up healthy at once, I think there'd be a lot of juggling going on.

If the Kings were completely healthy, some of those guys we wouldn't know about, others would be dealt for a defenseman.

Geez, is Barney now a "top 6"??? Tune in in about 7-8 games to find out if he keeps the consistency up!
