Andy Murray would love to put all the Kings' men back together again, but that's fairy tale stuff.
Murray, who's somehow kept the Kings in the playoff race with 420 man-games lost to injury following Saturday's game, deals in the real world and he got another dose of it against the Oilers when his best defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky -- who played 12 of the first 24 minutes -- was carried off on a stretcher with a suspected separated shoulder and possible neck injury after Ethan Moreau ran him over.
"When we played Colorado two years ago in the playoffs , I didn't realize what that would have meant if we'd won (Game 7). It was a pretty big bonus. I did feel a little worse the next day."
He'll sit down with GM Dave Taylor at the all-star game next weekend in Minnesota to talk about a new two or three-year deal. Murray makes $700,000 now and his contract's up at season's end. He should get a bump to $1 million.
"I think they'd like me back. I don't want to go anyplace else, unless I go back to coaching (prep school) at Shattuck St. Mary's," said Murray.
ok one im not very good at these and two i don't have a clue how much Frolov is valued, but would this trade be ok?
Basically you get Oates for the playoff drive and you have Ryan Smyth and in return you give up Frolov plus a 2nd Round pick.
(im not trying to offend anyone by the trade offer!)
I don't think Frolov would be traded straight up for Smyth let alone adding a 2nd to get a worthless Oates. Frolov is pretty much untradeable at this point unless he is part of some crazy blockbuster deal to bring in some superstar talent.
