Does anyone else think it could get physical early on? Didn't Ryan Hollweg get ejected the last time these 2 met because of Boarding one of their players?

Could be interesting....

Why is it the Knicks who don't care about winning and can't make the playoffs are on MSG while the Rangers are probably on a channel I don't have? who decides this garbage?

sweet nevermind it's on foxsports that's rare to see cool

Because the Knicks are at home and will have more people watching them.

Is it finally time this team goes on an extended winning streak? For crying out loud, win 6 or 7 in a row just one time and we'll be looking very good and most likely nullify those games in hand.

I predict a very physical game with the history of the last meeting between these two teams. Just try to stay out of the box, and just win.

Can't watch it; don't have FSNY. I will be listening to it, however.

Should be an interesting game..The Habs had us at their mercy when they skated and skated the last time only to fall apart when trying to play physical...They would be insane to go the Macho route tonight......Although the HBO line played a greatgame against the sharks and usually play very good defenses, I think the Canadiens and Kovalev are one of the few lines/teams the HBO line has had some trouble with and, throwing in the Hollweg/Kovalev factor and the need to stay out of the box, it should be up to the top 3 lines to play a complete game and win this sucker

4-2 loss, just don't think they can put three together here, it'd be really nice to make some distance in the standings, but thats not really the Ranger way.

Oh yea. The clearest sign of the team playing better. They have been pretty good about not taking too many penalties lately

They take 8 a game = loss

Of course most penalties come when your getting out hustled, so the level of competition being raised will negate 1/2 of the PK time right there.

Will anyone be surprised if this game gets ugly? Rangers embarrassed the Habs on National TV both in Canada and the USA on Superbowl Sunday.

That was a physical game, I expect physical x10 tonight.

Montreal is the best passing team in the NHL imo. Have to take it to them physically, cant give them any room. Watchout for those Looooooooooong passes.

You might be right, but I'm not sure...It's when the game got physical, that the Habs lost focus and unravelled..They should just try to beat us with their speed, transition and PP...If it does turn into a physical contest, that is a good sign for us..

at least the Habs dont overpass on the PP and actually shoot the puck. meaning stay out of the box and shoot the puck when there is a PP and not look for the pretty fancy play

still the Knicks generate more money, and more fans watch the Knicks than the Rangers. I don't know why but they do.

basketball is much bigger in the states than hockey is. Even though the knicks sucks and the rangers are rolling the knicks will still get more people watching the game on TV. You guys might sell more tix in stands but at home much more people watch the sucky knicks.

Not true. what are you basing this on? Maybe in the past, but there was a recent article saying just the opposite about Rangers hockey on MSG/2

Quote:
The Rangers might be in virtually the same place in the NHL standings as they were a year ago. But they're doing much better in the battle for local eyeballs. Though you'd never know it from the relative play each gets in the local media, the Rangers have pulled into a virtual ratings tie with the Knicks.

Rangers household ratings (HH RTG) on MSG have risen 121% from last season to an average of 1.08. By comparison, the Knicks are averaging a 1.11 HH RTG and at least one Rangers game this season on the difficult-to-find MSG2 was watched by more people than a simultaneous Knicks game on MSG. The Nets are delivering a comparatively minuscule 0.49 HH RTG on YES.

A 1.0 rating on MSG equals 73,919 homes. So the Rangers are averaging 79,833 homes per broadcast.

I know that. I just don't understand what is so great about basketball (especially NBA) and why people would rather watch that than hockey.
