shin guard straps

i just had a quick question. ive never used shin guard straps, but some of the guys in my pick up games use them.

ive seen some wear them on the outside of their socks like you would wear your tape. i have also seen 2 guys wear them under their socks directly around their shin guards.

which is the correct way to wear them? is it a matter of comfort? is their any benefit to wearing them under the socks?

thanks for any answers..

I would be thinking that its all a matter of comfort and personal preference.... you really cant go wrong unless you dont put them on.

With the number of variations I've seen in the way folks dress for hockey, I don't think there's a wrong way to wear anything. Do whatever seems to feel the best for your needs.

I use the Shin Tight things. Not a big fan of tape.

Gotta protect what is really important. I'd hate to see the size of your helmet (j/k).
