If I seem to remember right, the rumor was that Gainey was approached numerous time and that each time the AV GM approached Bob, the player the Habs were getting in exchange for Theodore was less and less important.
I remember reading or hearing something like.
Before the start of the season:
Pierre Lacroix: "Theodore for Tanguay?"
Pierre Lacroix: "Theodore for Hejduk?"
Pierre Lacroix: "Theodore for Aebischer?"
After his Hart season, I remember hearing rumours of ATL offering Kovy straight up... how the mighty have fallen .
No. I am annoyed when stupid rumors that make no sense get posted and people take them seriously.
I partially agree with you. Most of the year, you know it's 100% BS so it's annoying to see them pop-up all the time. But at this time of the year, you know something is about to happen...(maybe not with Montreal)
Though I would love to see the expression on the leafs fans faces when Sundin hoisted the cup with the Habs, I still dont think it would be worth it. Too weird, Sundin has too much leaf blood and history invested.
On a serious note, I agree Sundin will never end up in Montreal.
