IMO, he should stay in the Hammer and take all the responsibility they can heap on him to lead the team back to the calder. No pressure or room to bring him up now. The icetime he's seeing now will only help his development for when a spot opens up next year.

I agree, he can shore up on all facets of his game. I want him to get stronger on his skates, he needs to have a strong first step to be able to avoid getting knocked off the puck so easily (ala St. Louis).

He's definitely got the skills.

Grabovski is making everyone around him better. He literally revived the Dogs powerplay from the depths of doom. Something seems to happen every time he's on the ice. He and D'Ago have great chemistry. One thing is for sure though, he's a hell of a passer.

Jason Ward, he was the AHL MVP in 2003.

Its interesting to note that he already has 1/2 the points that Duncan Milroy has, and 1/3 points that Corey Locke has in only 9 games.

The thing is, the Habs don't anymore little guys now getting knocked off the puck easily. I say let Grabovski gain some size and weight over the summer and he could be well and ready for the Habs.

Since this streak started, the Dogs have played:

Toronto
Lake Erie
Rochester
Iowa
Quad City

Toronto are the best team in the division, one of the better teams in the league and the Dogs have struggled with them this year.
Lake Erie are one of the weaker teams in the division and the Dogs have had their number the entire season. That said, there might not have been a great deal between the teams earlier in the season but the Dogs are well ahead now.
Rochester are one of the worse teams in the league but they have had the Dogs number a few times this season. The Dogs have only won 2 of 7 against them so far this year, although some of those were close games.
Iowa are the weak team in their division, although if you put them in any other division their points total would get them well off the bottom of the standings in 2 of the 3, and into second last in the 3rd. Dogs only played them once this year, another game yet to come this season.
Quad City have a similar record to the Dogs. The two games so far this season have been a split.

But regardless of the strength of the opponent, those 5 games have been played in 6 nights and that has got to make it tough on the Dogs players. Especially one who gets big minutes and is used in every situation. As mcphee noted in a thread (maybe this one), he has the advantage of not being as tired as most guys this stage of the season. But 5 games in 6 nights will have an effect on anybody. I'm not sure if the Dogs opponents are stuck in similarly hectic schedules, but the Dogs have done a great job to get so many good results lately.

He has played with a lot of heart and dealt with some guys trying to cheap shot him and take him out. Most importantly though, he has used his head (which some opponents have tried to remove with force) and plays a better game. The effort from Grabovski has just about always been there, if misguided sometimes. Right now though, he is focused and effective, not to mention determined to get back to where he wants to be.

Because hes useful playing less than 10 minutes per game on your checking line.

Grabovski belongs to the scoring line, that much should be obvious from what we saw last time he was with the big team.

Sure hope not. As far as prospect depth, we don't have many centers with offensive capabilities aside from Maxwell and Grabovski.

What if Pleks gets injured?

He's probably our most tradeable asset that is not playing in the NHL. He will be including in any type of deal involving a Hossa type player.

D'Agostini would be more valuable IMO.

I disagree. I think a team like Atlanta could pick up a guy like Grabs and stick him in the lineup the next day and he's already had NHL experience. But in the end it doesn't matter because if Gainey is gonna get a guy like Hossa then he's going to have to give up at least one of our top prospects and Grabovski falls in that category.

He'd instantly become one of their top two centers.. if he centered Kovalchuk, they'd be deadly. Seriously.

Exactly. I think Grabovski would be pretty attractive to Atlanta.

And I like Atlanta as a team, Kovalchuk is an exciting sniper, Lehtonen is one of my favorite goalies from his old Final Fantasy masks. I'd definitely follow Grabovski there and not be insulted to see him wear their jersey.

I dont' think Kovalchuk has had a center of Grabovski's creativity, speed, energy and similar complimentary style before in the NHL. Who has he had Todd White?

Unfortunately I agree, I can see Grabs being part of the package for Hossa (if the trade goes down), and I say unfortunately because as was mentioned the Habs really don't have any offensive centers close to ready to come in should Pleks or Saks goes down other than Grabs.

That's completely inaccurate: he's played with Slava Kozlov, who has absolutely nothing to envy towards Grabovski.

Right, forgot about Savard.

Kozlov is a winger, isn't he?
