the '' thank you Carey Price'' thread

Yesterday was an epic comeback that probably gave the Habs board a record of posts in a gap of 5 hours, but i want to take time to remember what Price did since last week, Huet was god awfull lately, so then came Price who steals 2 games and brought back confidence in the team, it's too bad that the Habs we're watching the Rangers do evreything they wanted with the puck cause Price was mostly left alone on all goals and it sucks that he ends being the loser of the night after what he did, so there, thank you Price and now we know that if Huet has another fluke period coming that he is covered. It's great to have 2 great goalies

I just feel bad for Carey tho, that the Rags decided to open a can of whoop-a$$ on him, as he was doing so well before last night's game.

even tho he had a rough outing last night...I was really glad to see Price staying positive and having fun on the bench (ie covering the RDS camera lens with his bottle and throwing his hat on the ice when Ryder scored what everyone thought was his third goal)

He's young, it's to be expected he won't bail this team out all the time. The Dubinsky shot he maybe shouldve have, but cutting across and the shot going away from the flow is difficult.

The second goal was terrible coverage, although in the Philly games Price wouldn't have let that rebound out.

The third goal, Shanahan should not've been left alone in the slot to slap it.

The team needed a shake-up at that point. It wasn't Price's fault, but just like the Ottawa game with Huet, you need your goalie to make one or two of those saves.

You might be a day late, but I agree. A "thank you Carey Price" thread is justified.

I don't think Carey gets enough recognition on this board.

I want to take the occasion to say thank you to Huet for last night game.

I wasn't a Huet basher but I was blaming him for his game under pressure. Yesterday, especially in the shootout, he prove me wrong.

Nice to have two great goalies!

I like how Carey threw his Cap on the ice when Ryder (Streit) got his third goal.

1st goal? Just inside the post. What can you do?

2nd goal. Dubinski (sp?) deflected the original shot which made for an odd rebound straight to Avery. But hey, coverage was poor

3rd goal was a PP type.

The Habs played better in their own end after Price was pulled.

We have two good goalies that can easily spell each other off allowing lots of flexibility.

I'd like to point out too: Did you notice how pumped Price was at the end of the game. Team first. No goalie envy on the habs that I can see.

I don't think that is an insult to Price. IMO it's because the expectations on him are so high. So when he does play a good game, it's nothing special, it's expected.

Price gave enough time for Huet to get his game back.

Of course Price gets recognition, people only want to talk about him the day after Huet gets us the shootout win.

Price is young, he'll have the odd stinker. On the bright side, Huet will start against the Pens without the Habs having lost the game last night. Can't do any better than that. It is good to have 2 solid goaltenders.
