exactly, why? they are having trouble scoring and the sit rosie, not that he would have made a diff but he is better than vandermeer. he refused to sit him at all even game after bad game. homer obviously had enough

I agree with ending the goalie 'controversy' but I think Niitty is a very capable backup. I wouldn't trade Niitty.

he was never supposed to be a fighter and he was ok. to say he couldnt play is wrong. he had his faults but still didnt get a real chance. he should have been int he minors working on his game as the talent is there .

XFD, it's 48 degrees and sunny in Calgary today. I'd hardly consider that cold. And plus Vandermeer will be dropped to a 3rd line D position, not a big deal imo.

Why would you want to trade Niitty? I fully understand the frustration with the goalie "controversy" and all that, but still....why would you want to trade him? In this league right now, Niitty is a stellar backup. If we're going to make the playoffs, we could really use a capable backup. Hell, for a couple minutes there, we were all holding our breath thinking that Marty might have had a serious injury. I know I for one was able to feel much more comfortable knowing that if Marty was indeed seriously injured...at least we have a great backup like Niitty to step in.

I want Marty to be the clear cut #1, and Niitty the clear cut #2 just as much as many others around here, but that doesn't mean I don't want to keep them both.

If Niitty were to leave, who do you expect to fill the backup role?

It would be Brain Boucher, next year. ( I Think he has a strictly AHL contract for this year

Really only partly serious. I do want the goalie nonsense to stop. And I do like Nitty. If he could improve our defense I'd consider moving him. With only 20 games left I'd ride Marty til he broke, Boucher (yikes) would have to back him up.

And next week, it'll be minus how much?

I love the city, but it gets too damn cold for my liking.

Enjoy Vandermeer. Really.

Perfect!! Homer gave Stevens Vandermeer, Stevens played him as a 1st pairing dman, then a forward, and Homer took him away again. Love it!

Tonight, Stevens and Vandy share one last night together and, when morning comes, their loving embrace shall be broken forever.

Oh, he likely sucks.

However, "sucks" is far and away better than what Vandermeer was, which can't even be defined by any adjective yet created.

We basically traded Modry for Vandemeer, definatley an upgrade. Jimmy is simply a 6th or 7th defenseman and was used here as a 3 or 4, occasionally even as a 1 or 2.
