Hatcher dives with Sharks

The Flyers don't meet the Sharks until Thursday but Derian Hatcher is getting a one-day headstart when he dives into the 555,000-gallon Shark Realm at Camden Adventure Aquarium to swim with real sharks on Wednesday afternoon.

Hatcher, a certified diver, will take the plunge at 4 p.m.

There's no weight on it when he's in the water. It wouldn't surprise me if he has been swimming to rehab his injury. He probably just needs to keep off it in terms of skating and lifting and such.

I bet spending time in a shark tank is nothing compared to driving through Camden to get there.

It's a shame the sharks are probably Sharks fans and not Flyers fans. Then maybe we'd get $3,500,000 off the books next year.

I'm Jim Gartner, a shark at the Camden Aquarium suffered a brusied spinal chord this afternoon. Details at 11.

Ah, man, I was thinking along this lines, but couldn't word it properly. You, however, did a fine job.

I wonder if the shark'll be sharing in Lupul's herbal refreshments?

Seriously, I think this is cool. Too bad it wasn't earlier in the day where kids on school trips could watch. I think it's a great promo and a great way to sell the players as being "fearless."

No way Hatch is the only certified diver in the NHL. I think Crosby is, too.
