I don't think anyone at this point can say that Price is ready to carry the load.
The problem is the Huet doesn't seem to be able to do it either. I wouldn't trade him now because we're still trying to make it to the playoffs and i think it gives the wrong message when you trade your "number 1" (I use that term loosely, because Huet hasn't played like a number 1 since Ovechkin's 4 goal game in Wash.).
However, I'm starting to not care if we don't resign him. That's a potential 4 million that could be better spent somewhere else.
Price will be 100 times better then Huet and I feel he is "at least" at par with him now. Montreal will be lucky to win a round with Huet in net. No offense to the guy but he just don't have it.
Montreal should go with Price next game and let him ride for awhile, even if he loses one.
If Price plays the playoffs and loses in the first round, oh well, just chalk it up as experience because Huet wouldn't win anyways. They should go with the goalie who will be with the club next year. Huet won't be. He will accept more money to play elsewhere, and I don't blame him because this will be the only time he will have the opportunity to make big $$$. Habs won't give him what he wants to only be a backup.
Sorry, just a frustrated habs fan venting on a slumping goalie...
Huet is better in every aspect....and judging from the amount of wins, the Habs tend to play better infront of him. I realize stats don't tell the whole story, but just look at what Huet did for us in the month of January. Have you forgotten that already? Tonight was one game!!
