its called the rebound game. Goalie gets a point if he makes the save and no goal with or without a rebound. Players get a point if they score any way. Play to 5 or 10. We used it in high school for a warmup.

I forgot to add, that outside of our d-men the future of this team is a bit, um, WEE. Avery, Cally, Drury, Gomer, Dawes, Prucha, and Hollweg are not exactly HUGE. Dubi is kind of tall, but will probably bulk up. Sjostrom & Betts seem tall, and Orr is pretty huge. BUt, basically our top 6 forwards, while fierce, are not going to scare anyone. Not that is really an issue, just sayin'.

Drury looks like he works in a bank, and Gomer has that goofy everyone's my buddy vibe. At the intros, Sam call Drury loquacious, which I chuckled at.

but looking around most teams first lines, there arent many large skilled forwards.....the rangers have the ferocity to make up for it....plus the speed will kill......my old coach used to say "speed kills" and its true....a team of smaller guys with big hearts can beat a bigger team anyday but just making the chase them.....yes, they will get hit hard sometimes....but once th eother team gets tired the smaller team can strike where it hurts the most...on the scoreboard

Oh, absolutely, I just kind of surprised how "normal" sized everyone was off the ice. The comment wasn't meant as a dig or anything, just more of a wow, how about that kind of thing, especially since I've never been on skates with these guys to get a relative height comparison.

oh.....i know....sorry if my response looked aggressive....haha....that was not what i was going for....just stating from personal experience is all....i agree, for professional athletes i find hockey players are the most "normal looking"

For the last 10 minutes or so, Jagr was practicing stops & starts, stick handling, etc. by himself.

Like...on the ice...with skates on? I cant imagine doing that and succeeding.
push ups on ice are easier than off the ice.

What did Staal say that was so funny? He seemed kinda reserved during the Rock Band video.

Sam explained that there's an "initiation" for new team members. He went through the list, and forgot Staal. Slats stood up and pointed at Marc. He goes up to the podium, and said, very dryly, I thought I wouldn't be noticed standing next to Marek, and that he had some prepared remarks, but thought better of them or something.

It wasn't what he said, just his dry wit, and sense of timing. All the other rookies, not Gomer or Drury, kind of stumbled their way through. Marc stood up, made a funny remark or two, and because he's so quiet, it resonated.

Great stuff...It's a post like this that should remind everybody how classy an organization the Rangers are, how classy all their players are (even the whipping boys), and why we should root for All of them to go for the CUp..SOunds like a real together team from the 14 forwards to the 7-8 D-men..be nice to see this team go far in the POs..

Great stuff man. Thanks for the detailed recap. Maybe one day I can meet the entire team. So far I've only got to meet Girardi and Callahan, and JD at Leetch night

This was my consolation prize for not being able to go to Leetch Night.

Malik is a very funny guy. I got to hang with him a bit at the Casino night in 2005.

Very cool writeup Forechecker. I saw Sam at Casino night this year and thought he looked good. He seemed much thinner than I remembered. I always love talking to him.

I also got to see Strud's stache up close, but I didn't give him any **** about it. He's a big dude lol.
