Looks like the #1 spot is wide open for either of our good goaltenders...

I wonder if there's a chance we'll see Price as #1 come playoff time. If we make it. We're only 7 points in front! Even Ottawa could collapse!

Good decision. Huet has been weak for the last 2 weeks.

Have you notices how "Christ"-o-"Baal" sounds a lot like the antithesis of Jesus Price?

I'll call him Pric-o-baal OUet.

I think this would have been the perfect chance to show confidence in Huet and put him back in nets. It would have shown the Coach believes in him and it might have given him the confidence he needs.

Putting Price in nets is only gonna mess up the goalie situation again. What if Price bombs saturday??..

We shouldn't be playing Ping Pong with our goalies with only 20Games left.

This is just my two cents.

Even if Huet did not play well at all vs Pittsburgh, I think you're playing with fire by not giving him another chance.
He needs to work out of this funk, we need him because even if it sounds heroic, Price won't carry the load in the playoffs his year a la Dryden at all; we need Huet at his top, and by giving him games you're getting his confidence back.

IMO, expected though.

It will be interesting to see what happens if he plays well. The habs have two favourable matchups against Columbus and Atlanta at home. Columbus is the lowest scoring team in the league. I wonder if he can take the reins and run with them.

Yahhh the goalie shuffling continues. They need to pick one goalie and stick with him, win or lose. I bet we drop to 6th or 7th if this continues.

Bah!

Huet was weak on the Ruutu goal...true, but his team backed him up by scoring 3 straight goals to make the game 4-3. I think Carbo is more upset by the tying goal from Malkin (sure, I know it's Malkin, but if Huet wants that #1 starter recognition, those are the kinds of save he HAS to make) + couple that with the blue line one-timer from Gonchar...

You knew Price would get the nod

Agreed. We won lots in January when we didn't shuffle goalies.

Huet is a veteran, professional athlete. The coach should be sending him the message that if he works hard and produces results, that's he'll be the go to guy, not worrying about his confidence like he is a child.

Price to start Sat vs CBJ

That was expected. Personally, I don't care who is in net as long as the Habs get good goaltending. I think Melanson was right when he said recently that if the Habs are to make a strong run at the Stanley Cup one of the goalies will need to step up and show they are able to give 1st rate goaltending.

But why I am suppose to believe that Huet will carry the load in the playoffs? Neither goalie has ever done it before so there is no proven track record. Huet was given a chance against Pittsburgh and he dropped the ball IMO. Price will now be given his chance. What do we have to lose by playing Price anyway? Are we committed to Huet past this season? No. Are we invested in Price? Yes.

Oh no - it's the 'delicate genius' argument again.

Thankfully I have more sense than some posters around here, and know that Huet is mentally tougher than THEY give him credit for.

He better be, or it's out the frigging door with you, buddy!
