I love people saying you have to give to get.

Of course you have to. But a package of Bouchard, top prospect, + 1st is more than enough to land Jokinen.

"Fair value" on this board is extremely overrated, because the fact is in the NHL fair value never happens. The only overpayment I've ever seen was the Lindros trade, and even then it wasn't huge players. Forsberg was till a prospect to my knowledge and Duschene was the only top guy going back .. Hextall to an extent.

People here really over-value what is going to go the other way. If people think Minnesota is going to trade Burns, a 1st, and a prospect for Jokinen.. it'll never happen.

To Florida: Ryan Suter, David Legwand
To Nashville: Jokinen, Cullimore, 2nd 09

Florida gets a stud young dman, and a top 2 center entering his prime.

Nashville gets Jokinen. Cullimore would be a nice 5-6th man for them.

That's not a bad proposal.. thought I don't think the 2nd would be included.

To Minnesota: O. Jokinnen

Koivu becomes redundant (and I believe Wild moves him before ever moving Sheppard), Parrish is signed for thru to 2011), Shawn Belle is a decent prospect and the 1st rounder is the icing on the cake that makes sure Columbus, Calgary, or Vancouver do not get him. Yes, it is a lot to give up but we are talking about a $5 million dollar player who, on a team like Minnesota (with Demitra and Gaborik) could end up being a super-star. I love his upside!!!
Too much of an overpayment, unless FLA is adding 1st rounders or players like Olesz or Boumeester to the deal.

I could see this happening, although I don't know if Minnesota would want to trade Pouliot..maybe 1 or two other less touted prospects instead because now Minnesota is seeing how O'Sullivan is turning out and they might be a little less likely to deal off a big prospect because of it.

Johnsson isn't crappy at all. He is very solid. Is he overpaid a bit? Yes, but so were all the other defensemen at the time.

Johnsson would become your #2 defensemen.

But he's not moving since he's to important to Minnesota.

So do I, but he's not getting moved short of a serious overpayment.

As a fan of neither the Wild nor the Panthers, I can honestly say I wouldn't trade Burns for Jokinen straight up.

I'd say number 3. I doubt he would be included in any trade anyways.

FLA doesn't want Pouliot, and there ain't a whole lot in Houston that does it for them...

We will have to give up PMB and a lot of picks then.
