It's been bothering me for a while now. So can someone please explain to me why the Flames players are all sporting hick moustaches?

I believe they made a bet to see who could grow the best 'stache, it's a team bonding thing. I think it's hilarious.

It is hilarious, seeing that some of these moustaches (if you can call them that), are quite ... pathetic.

Yes, I wish they would all grow the ultra-hip Todd Bertuzzi sideburns.

Because they all look like they could/should be marching in a gay pride parade?

Not that there's anything wrong with that

Interesting.

In my earlier reply, I used ultra-hip instead of ultra-something else to describe Bertuzzi's fruity sideburns to avoid being insensitive to anyone. I guess all bets are off.

Anyway, I'm sure Bertuzzi wouldn't look out of place leading that parade.

That's the whole point. They want to see who can grow the biggest and best, and then they poke fun at the guys who can't.

It was all inspired by Lanny's moustache. So it has some sort of meaning.

Iginla's is just pathetic. Warrener has a cool one, though.

i highly doubt they are taking themselves seriously by growing moustaches. upper-lip hair is inherently funny. it just is. besides, i think that growing out the moustachios is a lot better than some teams of the past that have done "wild and wacky" stuff like all dying their hair blonde. if you ask me, those teams could lead a few parades. again, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Calgary should name several players of the game and hand out a feather headdress, a police hat, a leather cap and and a cowboy hat. Then the village people tribute would truly be complete.
