To Hawks
C RJ Umberger

To Flyers
D Cam Barker

Hawks get a great physical center who can also play wing. The Flyers get a young puck moving defenseman with great potential.

Hawks lineup with Umberger next year!

Sharp-Toews-Kane
Ruutu-Lang-Havlat (If Ruutu aint traded Hawks will resign him i feel)
Umberger-Bolland-Skille
Eager-Adams-Burish

Seabrook-Keith
Sopel-Insert UFA here
Wisniewski-Byfuglien (I like to use Byfuglien as Dman even strength, forward on PP)

Believe me, we're very happy to be even competing for a playoff spot after last year.

We're just a little spoiled with the team playing the way they were going into the ASB. I think it gave us as fans a small bit of pride and now that we pulled a utter 180 we're all pissed off.

We should be fortunate we built up enough steam earlier so that this massive 10 game loss streak hasn't thrown us completely out of contention.

I pretty much think we should still be able to make the playoffs, we aren't as bad as this winless streak leads us to believe and we're not as good as the streak going into the ASB had us believing then.

Then again, if all our guys keep going down we're in trouble. These injuries aren't helping matters at all. At this rate Briere and Hartnell be out by the next game.

Well said.

I would explore trading Smith if Hatcher's career isn't in jeopardy. The Flyers need a forward BAD now with Richards out.

Which means where you are now is right where you are supposed to be. Out of the playoffs.

And picking 11th in the draft. Where you'd be picking now if the draft were held today.

Chipchura will be a good center. If anything we get burned by Halak in this one.

Is that right? Based on what? cause he is a Hab? Smallish goalie with some skill... We do not need another future NHL back up. Boo..

Chipchura might be a good center but Carter already IS!

Knuble to VA... for a goalie prospect and 2nd
Smith to Sharks.. for a d-sive prospect and 2nd

in the fall, full of the brilliant outsmarting of the entire league with their trade and mega sign of Timmonen and Hartnell and then the signing of Briere, the Flyers were going to jump from last back into Cup contention. Now...the clock has struck midnight. Briere is a pumpkin getting booed. The defense is still slow and out of step with the game and the Flyers are going down in big orange flames.

What next?

Timonen and Hartnell have been great. Briere is still putting up points, but he is soft and looks lost without Gagne. The team was never quite good enough to make a legitimate shot for the East. I estimated 6th-8th seed in the East, and that is still most likely where the team will end up. The defense is pretty fleet of foot outside of Smith and Hatcher.

in all honesty, coburn, timonen, jones, kukkonen can hardly be called slow. parent has great legs too when he's up here. it's really only smith and hatcher that can't keep up.

on the bright side, a lot of flyers prospects who barely missed the cutoff for making the team are now getting a chance to play in the nhl.

None of that is relevant. It's a bout ridiculous injuries at the worst times, and flat out terrible coaching

all I know is I really want to see the Flyers miss the playoffs. I don't know why, but even with Clarke out of the picture, I still can't stand that team. Plus they spent like crazy and it's backfired once again.

I think the big contracts have been two rousing successes, and one off-year.

I like how much disrespect Halak gets in trade proposals...kinda like he's a throw in. Ya he's not a big name prospect, but he's been putting up such ridiculous numbers for a young goalie in Hamilton.

Check his stats in the AHL....2.14GAA with a .929 Sv Pct.

If we didn't have a prospect named Price on our team, you can bet he would be in the NHL this year. I hope we keep him rather then throw him in a deal to even things out. The last time we did that we lost Vokoun, just because we had Theodore and Garon in our system. Where dis that leave us?

In my eyes, prospects like Halak and Chipchura should bring back good value. Are they worth Carter? Maybe...maybe not...
