avery star in buffalo

Did anyone notice avery skate out on to the ice when they announced he was the first star of the game. I've never seen a player from the away team do this.

He's such a pompous ass.. but he makes me laugh lol.

The guy really is hilarious.

I get the impression that it is mostly sarcasm anyway, but people take it seriously, and he finds it funny.

That was the BEST. Those idiots infuriate me the way they bang on the glass every two seconds.

Avery skated to where his parent's were sitting and waived to them. I don't think he was going out of his way to be pompous. I think it was just an added bonus for him.

Buffalo fans, and their announcer, are some of the most annoying fans in all of hockey.

It was hard to see it even in the broadcast. You only see him and vally about to go to the locker room, (behind the bench in Buffalo) when you hear the announcer say Sean Avery, and he darts back out on the ice. The camera didn't follow him though. Some of the fans loved it.

Where are you getting your sources on that? I have one bud whose a buffalo fan and he is the ONLY one that I remotely know who can stomach that announcer. Everyone I know otherwise can't stand him.

The fact that he calls a game, yes hometown will be biased, but most times if you were to listen to his broadcast on the radio you would think buffalo was having an intrasquad skate because he says NOTHING about the other team.

He knows nothing and says nothing about the visiting team, and it takes away from the excitement. They are the only games I still have a weak stomach watching, all because of the announcer. Yes I have watched it muted too. He's just too much.

The Capitals commentators are even better, and that's saying something.

He was banging on the glass after scoring.

Then as they were going off after he was waving to fans being a jerk about it haha. And as he went through the door to go to the locker room by the bench, they said his name and he literally RUSHED out. Valiquette looked him like "*** are u doing"

I think he was trying to imply that 95% of the league thinks that Ranger fans and our announcers are worse.

Maybe 95% of Devils fans think that.

That was hilarious. He looked like he was having a good time with the Sabres fans.

I see that happen sometimes though with visiting players. When the Rangers beat the Flyers 2 weeks ago down in Philly, both Gomez and Valiquette skated onto the ice for the 3 stars..but there were also a lot of Rangers fans by the tunnel, so that was probably the reason. I think Avery strictly did it to be an ass

Surely both Islander fans couldn't have given their team such a rotten reputation?

Come on, seriously here? LOL... This is Sean Avery we're talking about....

The guy scores a goal, does the first pump on one knee, then does the dual punches up in the air, and then proceeds to look up at the fans and bang his hand on the glass with both of his arms up in the air....

Coincidence that he does this in Buffalo? I think not!

i like buffalos fans, they are die hards, and support their team despite having an owner who wont pay up to keep franchise players. gotta respect fans like that.

Jeanerette on the other hand makes me want to strangle puppies. I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the man with a passion. Thank god now with NHL Center Ice you get both the home feed and the away feed (i think you need to have the sports pack as well, which i do). I never have to listen to his voice again. I swear, when hes on, i have to mute the audio. Hes right up there with Ken Harrelson as the worst of all time.
