"I fully expect the Sabres to move him," said Campbell's agent, Larry Kelly.

Kelly told The News the Campbell camp was disappointed in the Sabres' contract offer last week. The proposal reportedly was for three years at about $5.75 million per season. The money was fine, but the term was unacceptable.

"At 28 years old, Brian should be getting six or seven years," Kelly said.

If the price for Hossa is something resembling Higgins, Mcdonagh and a 1st I really hope Gainey walks away.

How can Waddell even expect such a package unless Hossa signs an extension as well?

Having Hossa shoot on Price in practice should help him develop faster. Guys like Heatly, Alfy, Spezza and Ovechken have been having there way with him. Kovy on the Habs is the only true legitimate "shooter" with accuracy.

Its a win win for Price and Habs if we get Hossa. Another threat who has a one timer besides Kovy.

Its hard to imagine Hossa/Campbell both being Habs and after many years of us getting nobody, I think we may have the resources to pull this one off. I have a feeling that all the Habs prospects are in play and anyone of them may be traded.

That's really worked for Emery and Gerber in Ottawa.

So what your saying is that I can get 2 min for tripping another poster? That's awesome!! You should give 5 min bans to people who fight (verbally) on the boards. Wouldn't that be amazing!? You miss a big trade because you were verbally fighting!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I guess Osgood and Budaj should be great goalies considering Yzerman shot on one in practice and Sakic shot on the other. Don't forget Marc-Andre Fleury having players like Crosby and Malkin. You've stretched the benefits of Hossa a bit too much.

Gaston Therrien gotta be one of the most ridiculous analysts in history

He was presenting his offer ideas and just proposed Hossa for Grabovsky and Streit

Just my opinion here, speculating on what's going on....

Teams are dropping out. There are quite a few teams that are interested but just don't have the horses to make it happen, or aren't willing to ship out the pieces that Atlanta covets.

Sharks seem more interested in Olli Jokinen.

I still think this might happen tonight.

What's up with the Team 1200 rumor that Grabovski, Huet, and Higgins would be amenable to Montreal? Is that possible?

From Cyberpresse.ca :
Quote:

Quick translation:

Hossa was asked about rumors that he could be traded to the Montreal Canadiens. He politely answered that it was a good team.

"I got to admit that I haven't think about it. I did not give a list of teams where I would like to be traded. Lots of rumors. We'll see in a couple of hours."

For those of you who thought he'd be traded with a contract extension, it doesn't sound like it will be case

1-The articles that mention Waddell's asking price almost always come back to the Roster Player+ Prospect+ Pick. Then they bring up which assets team A or B has to fit the asking price.

2-Waddell has also repeatedly said he wants a return that can help his team make the playoffs this season.

3-All those reports can't all be wrong... I'm convinced Hossa will be very expensive.
