I know, I know. HF is gonna explode. Everyone fasten your seat belts, for Martin Lapointe is going to a playoff contender!

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/columnists/pagnotta.html

I honestly hope that the Rangers are not involved (and I doubt they are), but still I hold my breath. What possible teams might be interested in him? Anyone?

It doesn't say the Rangers are in the hunt for him. It did mention about McCabe if that is what u were talking about.

Would look okay on the 3rd line or bottom line of a contender. Guy does have a ton of leadership and has been instrumental in passing the reins off to Toews and Seabrook.

Will be interesting to see what he gets back. On play, probably a mid pick (4th), on reputation/leadership probably something higher (2nd?). As someone who will probably root for Ottawa in the east, I think he could be a nice player on their 3rd/4th line.

No, but it doesn't mention any team. Really there is a 1/29 chance that the Rangers are the team. I'm just saying that while I highly doubt it's the Rangers, I still hold my breath because I'm a Rangers fan and know better than to ignore an old washed up player on the verge of being traded. Like I said, I'll put it at 2% being the Rangers.

Sens maybe are a good fit. So are the Devils....?

I'd certainly take him back in Boston.

Not that he was ever really a threat, but 3 goals for the year? I think I will take my chances with a guy who 1 less, Shawn Thornton tyvm. He lands in DET, they love their (old) players in that town don't they? Not a knock boys, just seems that way...

If O'connell was still there I would have asked for Kessel and a 1st!

lol.

In all seriousness I will be watching the Boston games intently. I think with a move or two they're the darkhorse in the east.

Hawks are losing a lot of toughness this year...Koci on waivers, Vandermeer traded, Lapointe gone. Do they think Seabrook and Eager are going to stand up for all the young kids and Havlat...? Good luck.

The hawks are loaded with big kids who can chuck em down in the minors:

bickell (6'4"), Brouwer (6'3"), Blunden (6'3"), Berti, Dowell and even Skille to some extent. None of them are enforcers, but all of them can go. I actually think Berti could be a legit heavy but he just doesn't have the mental makeup for it (when he wants to toss him he can really let em fly).

We do not have a heavy other than Koci, but Greenop from everything we hear is pretty much an animal in waiting. Although he won't be ready next season...

But on the merits you are right, and 80% of hawk fans are pretty disgusted at how soft this team is...

Looks like a Brian Murray kinda pickup, especially with Neil injured.
