Boyle with Prospal to Philly and Richards to Vancouver were just his guesses at what was up. All his source said was "something's up in Tampa". Shows he's connected, at the very least, which some people on here refuse to believe.

what? Are u saying Prospal or Richards?

If they trade Richards now, they shed nearly 2 mil in salary for the rest of the year and 7.8 mil for the next 3 years.

Are u doing the math right?

Good for Tampa Bay for signing up Boyle.

Now I'm excited to see the Brad Richards derby tomorrow.

Overpayment for Boyle. I am amazed that they are willing to dump Richards while paying that much for Boyle.

Signing a defenseman on a last place team to a long term 40 million dollar contract on a team that's already strapped with multiple long term huge contracts.

Let's hope he holds his weight for the contract.

this is overpayment for Boyle.

6M$ would have been fair.

Tampa Bay are overpaying their star players, no wonder why they have 1 forward NHL-caliber line and one NHL-caliber pairing D.

I'm not, I'm skewering the #'s. What is Boyle making now? 4? So he gets a raise of 2.6 subtract 7.8 and whatever Mr. Prospal was making and they save about 8 million. Oh well.

And the TB cap hell continue...

The owner wants the salary cap at 38M$ for his team next year.

Richards is likely gone that's true but still, it will not be easy for the Bolts to get the players to play with Vinny, St-Louis and Boyle.

They should invest some money in scouting if you ask me. They could need it badly in years to come.
