I'm pretty sure I like that. I know people say things about Prospal being slow, but he'll be fine.
Danny and Vinnie are both great playmakers, but are both great at scoring goals as well. Hopefully they will make for a great combo. I'm sure Umby will be fine...he's been continuing to play great lately and seems to perform pretty well no matter whose wing he winds up on.

I wouldnt call Vinnie great at scoring, he has hit 25 twice in his career including this year, he is a great playmaker though and a chippy player that will battle. I hope it works, but the Flyers have been asking Briere to be the playmaker all season, it looks like now they are asking him to be the trigger man.
I am a little concerned about putting all our eggs in one basket with that line, but we shall see.

Very true...he is much more of a playmaker and hasn't perenially been a bigtime goal-scorer. I was primarily focusing on his current season and numbers, which do have plenty of merit to them. 29 goals, and from I understand he has spent plenty of his time this year playing without Lecavalier and St. Louis.

That's just the nature of having guys out with injuries. Right now the Flyers have to hope they can get 2 goals from the top line, maybe a PP goal, a broken play, and trap...a lot.

He has spent most of the season with them, but was recently moved to center on the 2nd line and Richards was moved up to the top line. He is having a great year....he does every other year.

Still gives us a Upshall/Hartnell-Carter-Knuble second line
Moving Hartnell to Carter/Knuble's line just so he can be on the "2nd" line isnt smart. Upshall/Carter/Knuble line is strong and shouldnt really be messed with...
Is Holmgren obsessed with re-signing everybody? Sometimes you need change and to let players go (like Smith). We shouldn't be trying to afford Prospal before we see if he fits, see if he plays well, and we see what it costs to re-sign Umberger and Carter. When healthy, he's not really a necessary player.
This will make him a good match for playing with Danny Briere. Briere, who has played better in his last two contests, hopefully will be jumpstarted with the addition of Prospal.
Apparently Frank doesn't think he's been jumpstarted the last two games too.
Don't forget to tell Frank he's wrong too.

Frank, you are wrong, too. Oh, and here are some gay smileys which, apparently, add something.
Briere will be fine I think... if you look in the Flyers archive on CSN.com for this season, I have been pretty tough on Briere.
I was pretty irate last week - Stevens talked in the press conference about how much "Briere really cares" and that even though the bounces aren't going his way, that he still "cares."
Great. Who ever said he didn't care?!?
He is a very likable guy, indeed. But it only counts as bounces not going your way when you are -4 and not -24.
Briere was brought here to score. He hasn't done that.
Hopefully this Buffalo game will put him back on track. We'll see tomorrow.

A well written piece Frank. Glad to see we share the same opinion that Prospal could help jump start Danny. Will you be at the game tonight? I may be down to cover it.

good article
heres hopin you didnt jinx Prospal by saying hes a workhorse whos hardly ever injured
This next stretch is gonna be tough, 3 games in 4 nights with a banged up hockey team.
We could have a Ottawa team that could very well could be in a bad mood tonite. major test for sure.
since the smileys seem to be the theme of the day:
Philly's Briere pleased to have Prospal on his line

Inquiring minds want to know whether Flyers center Danny Briere will prospal, err, prosper from playing with the human spark plug, Vinny Prospal.
"Hopefully, the same thing that happened down in Florida with Vinny [Lecavalier] and Marty [St. Louis]," Prospal replied. "Play well in the offensive zone and score some goals."
Wednesday, Prospal joined the Flyers and immediately took the left wing spot on Briere's line with right winger R.J. Umberger.
Finally, you understand. I was just reminding you to tell Frank like you told me, our opinions are wrong...
Nope...your ******** on Gomez and Gionta was flat out wrong, and my posts and everyone else in that thread proved it, you just cant admit that god forbid Mr. inside source, been a fan for 34+ years actually was wrong on something...
Who should be on what line is defnitely an opinion in which no one is right or wrong, other than the fact I was saying from the beginning of the year Knuble should play with Carter and once they put them together they have been great. I was certainly right on that opinon....

I expressed my opinion about Gomez and Gionta, and used facts to support my opinion. For you it's all about right and wrong, not respecting someone's beliefs and opinions. If I am ever wrong on something I'll be the first to admit it. It takes more than brow beating, name calling, and hurling insults to prove something wrong.
Since everything is clearly right and wrong to you, if someone said, "Mike, I believe in God", are they right or wrong? What if they said, "the egg came before the chicken", or "the glass is half empty". Just wondering.
BTW, is "flat out wrong" worse than being just wrong?
