American Flag Burning @ Dinamo vs Spartak

Personally, I thought that this was out of line. What does desecrating an upside down flag have to do with the hockey game at hand? I can't even begin to imagine the storm that would ensue had someone burned a Russian flag at NHL game...

Maybe there were rumors that Spartak would be moving to Nashville?

With America supporting Kosovo independence this is neither surprising nor uncalled for.

As for burning the flag, Russian people are such, that it's enough for a small bunch of idiots to get up and point a finger and the whole horde will obey. It's very unfortunate, burning flags is so terrorist-like, so stupid and disgusting. Days like that make me ashamed of being born and having grown up in Russia

+1000000

I would add Crimea, Pridnestrov'e, Katalonija, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Florida should become part of Cuba

It's very warming to see that morons are everywhere, this almost outweighs burning a flag on the other side of the pool.

I cannot imagine someone would burn Russian or some other flag at an NHL game, or anywhere in America...

This is obviously a dangerous and illegal act (Kosovo). At least the UN Russia Canada Spain Greece China etc... have stand firm. On the other hand burning a US Flag at a Dynamo hockey game is simply stupid. I hope this guy those guys get ban from the Arena. Absolutely not the place and doing nothing good... Great scoring title race between Morozov and Mozyakin.

America supporting Kosovo isn't a surprise. They don't support Palestinia and Kurds because Turks and Israel are their allied. US Foreign Policy is a double standard disgrace but burning a US Flag at a Dynamo hockey game??? This is out of place and won't change anything... Talking about Kosovo : If the Serbs keep the protests in the North and Russia and allies keep their line it will settle in a partition of Kosovo...

Serbians are brothers of Russians, so it is not suprising that someone did it, I heard they were cheering "Serbia!Serbia!" when they were doing it...

That's good chanting but burning the flag inside an hockey arena isn't smart. Go protests in thousands in front of the US Embassy instead...

Well, lets not get ahead of ourseleves. I would think that more American flags are desecrated within the national confines of the United States than the rest of the World combined. Yet, like you, I can't fathom anything of the sort happening at a an NHL game... there are political protests and there is hockey - and the two shouldn't be mistaken for one another.

Did they hold the flag upside-down to add to their political statement? Or are they just that ignorant?

An upside down American flag is traditionally a military distress signal... but has since been widely adopted by political protesters as a show of their distress with whatever it is being protested. The latter usage is perceived as disrespectful.

I like it better when Marilyn Manson burns it.

Some Russian hockey fans? That's just retarded.

Yeah. After the American funded NATO operation to gain geopolitical control of Eastern Europe despite lacking UN authorization nor legal authority to invade; the funding of terrorist organizations (such as the KLA); and the complete disrespect of culture, international relations, and political autonomy how could Kosovo not deserve independence?
