trade proposal

I listed this one in another thread but I was just curious about what you think about this proposal, again this is a proposal not a rumor.
To Boston Smyth,Laraque, and Brewer. To Edmonton Rolston, McCarthy, Huml, and Jilson

won't happen. edmonton doesn't want rolston- a UFA-to-be making over 3 million a year, and have no interest in mccarthy. jillson i'm sure they'd be interested in, and maybe huml too. but we'd be totally raking them over the coals on this deal.

Yeah that deal is ridiculously one-sided. IF you pulled Brewer out, it'd be closer to fair.

Bottom line though is that I can't see Edmonton taking Rolston, and I can't see MOC realizing what everyone else has, that we lack grit. So I don't expect him to look for a deal like this that might actualy address a need.

I'd love to have Brewer, but he's elevated his play of late so I doubt he'd be easy to pry away. Also, I would rather have Rolston over Smyth because he's a better skater and more versatile.

I love Huml's potential but if O'Connell was offered this trade and did not do it he
really is as stupid as some of us think. I am not a big Smyth fan but to me the
prize in this deal is Brewer. Imagine a blueline corps of Brewer, Boynton, Morrisonn,
Gill, Slegr and O'Donnell - insert sound effect of Homer Simpson drooling
It's pretty much a given that Rolston will not be resigned, Jillson is in and out of
the lineup, McCarthy is a 4th liner and Huml is a prospect. And we are getting
Smyth ( good for 25-30 goals ) Brewer ( a stud on the blueline ) and Laraque
( a much needed banger ). You know what - this deal is just too one-sided to
ever happen.

Never happen.

Right team, wrong deal.

Smyth AND Brewer would cost the B's Thornton Boynton Bergeron Samsonov Morrissonn- and will never happen.

Unless you meant Smith and Smyth, then, maybe.

You might get their attention if you switch Rolston with Samsonov. Also they wont take on McCarthy.
