Any word on Modry?

I know he left the game early last night, and now we're down another body. Does this mean we go with Kukkonen again, or will Homer swing another deal?

He is being reevaluated today so there is no specific word yet.

No reason to make another depth trade, just play Kukkonen. Only deal for a defenseman if it's a significant upgrade in the offense department.

I wouldn't mind another depth defenseman IF Lasse was permanently in the top 6

Rory?

Depends on Modry's injury. I doubt it's longterm.

Remember Hatcher will be back as well.

If Modry is out until the playoffs as well as Hatcher, we are looking at only 6 guys on defense at the moment, and that includes Kukkonen. I don't want to see Fitzpatrick or Guenin in ANY games which mean anything.

How many friggin' fringe defensemen do you want? We're fine. Hatcher said at the carnival he could be back in 10 days and I highly doubt Modry's injury is season ending.

Someone was able to translate Hatcher-speak into English?

Fan: When will you be back, Derian?

Hatcher: Hatch back *holds up both hands, fingers extended* this many day.

Modry out. Defenseman Jaroslav Modry suffered a rotator cuff strain in his left shoulder and will be out of the lineup for seven to 14 days. He has played just three games since being acquired from the Los Angeles Kings.

Per Philly.com

bartulis? can jones still be called a prospect? i like ratchuk a lot but i don't think he's our top prospect. based on his training camp, guenin has made a case for himself too.

Guenin or Bartulis, at least of the guys we can currently call up.

Marshall overall, he is the kind of player who will make it to the NHL with his work ethic alone.

I'd throw Lehtivouri's name (after the season and WJC he's had) and Ratchuk's name into the mix as best prospect defenseman after Parent. But Guenin would clearly be the next call-up if it came to that.

Modry will miss seven to 14 days with injury

Jaroslav Modry will be sidelined for one-to-two weeks after suffering a rotator cuff strain in his left shoulder.

Modry has appeared in just three games with the Flyers since being acquired from the Kings prior to the trade deadline. Denis Gauthier will likely be recalled to replace him, but he has to clear waivers first. Feb. 27 - 9:43 am et

I was over in the Czech and Lehtivuori is a great talent... he definitely needs to work on his even strength defensive zone play though. He will be over here in another year or two.

Per Philly.com
Philadelphia: where NHL players go to get injured.

I want to see both.. Bodrov is good too, I am still convinced that he is D.Markov like player hits like a truck, but I think Marshall is better. Too bad he was cut from WJC roster I thought he was good enough.
