Spezza injured?

Left leg injury or something vague like that. It happened on a hit from behind when he went into the boards hard...

Anyways, I hope it's not too bad.

It looked bad..Nolan came charging at him at full speed and it looks like Spezza has a leg injury. I hope he returns for the 2nd period.

He's out for the game but apparently it's just a leg contusion.

Yeah, it looks like he went into the boards pretty hard. It looked bad, but most injuries that look bad at first, turn out to be not so serious. He will be out for the game. I hope it's only for a game, on his part.

I have no idea what a contusion is - but I hope he won't miss too many games because of it. Ottawa's powerplay is suffering tonight (no Havlat and no Spezza) and that's not good at all.

If anyone was watching the CBC's broadcast, it's absolutely horrible. Cole and Neale and ignorant losers.

Not just tonight. But it's been ESPECIALLY bad tonight. Cheap little comments about Hnidy during the Domi-Hnidy scrap. Ignorance when it came to commenting that Nieuwdunnohowtospell was actually trying to "avoid" Lalime (yeah, braking in the goalie, way to go for being unintentional). Don't even get me started on the cheapshots they've taken at Ottawa (and Montreal, and whoever the Leafs happen to play).

After the first period, I turned on the Ottawa radio broadcast so I wouldn't have to listen to more bull**** from [insert dude's name] and Neale.

To say that Nieuwendyk intentionally runned lalime shows your credibilty

Yeah, Nieuwendyk (that how you spell it? thx btw) looked pretty intentional on TV. Of course, it wasn't malicious and Nieuwendyk isn't someone who does this on a regular basis. Not a knock on him, just the two guys commentating's wordings are really biased.

On a brighter note, Ed Belfour is excellent. Unfortunate for the Sens.

Noticed that. But since my team is so bad today, I was laughing at that for some reason.

And to use the word "runned" shows your sheer stupidity. I guess we couldn't expect much more though, could we?

I was watching The Score up here in Toronto and they said that "sources have told The Score that Jason Spezza has a broken knee cap"....ok, so it's not an exact quote, but it's close.

So how long is that? 4-6 Weeks?

I heard James Cybulski (sp.?) say something about that, does anyone have an exact quote?

It is a dislocated knee cap, and it will be roughly 4-6 weeks.
If it was broken Spezza wouldnt have gotten up, a broken knee cap is one of the absolute worst pains imaginable.

That was Chris Cuthbert and he's one of the better PbP men out there. You were probably hearing the two colour guys that were on the broadcast, Glen Healy(possibly the worst colour guy on the face of the planet) and Harry Neale(the worst Leaf homer next to Don Cherry). They were making things quite unbearable, but Cuthbert's play calls are solid.

Sucks about Spezza though. Is the dislocated knee confirmed?

That's what I'd like to know. If so, that's terrible news for the Sens.
