Should we Re-Signed Ryder next season?

I am the first to admit I was on the lets trade Ryder band wagon at the beginning of the season however as of late I really like the way he has played. But most importantly I find he has an effect on Higgins, when Ryder plays well: so does Higgins BUT when he doesn't play.... you know what Im getting at. Whats your opinion?
Take into consideration their is no one that is UFA this year that would appeal to the Habs, assuming Hossa signs long term with the pens, which imo is likely to happen.

Depending on the money he wants.

If he wants $3M again.. I'd let him walk.

If we can lock him up for $2M, I'd think about it.

If we can lock him up for $1.5M, there is no question I'd sign him.

He's a good player.. and depending what he does down the stretch is what I'd off him.

Come on the guy has 2 good weeks and now he's a keeper...

I don't want him sign to a long term contract. If we can't get Hossa or a star player and he agrees to a 1 year contract, probably... but other than that I prefer going with the young forwards like D'Agostini instead...

He may be getting some crazy money offered to him if he finishes this season strong so if we can keep him i'd say 'yes' but at a not too high price.

I agree. It really depends. If we can use that 3 million to get a guy like Hossa, I let Ryder go.

This question is asked too early. I think Gainey should wait until the end of the season, have a coffee with Ryder and speak with him. I have a feeling that he will not be back next season.

He's been good since January.

He has a better production rate (PTS per MIN) than any player on our team .. maybe other than Kovalev (though it'd be close).

Re-sign Ryder please. Shouldn't have to overpay and this guy is a damn good player. Do it Bob.

If we're looking for a right handed shooting Right winger that is a UFA, Ryder is probably the best of the bunch. Either we resign him, make a deal, or bring up D'Agostini...

I didn't know Gainey and Kovalev did that. Gainey and Ryder could go at La Banquise, and have a !!!!!

Absolutely if the price is right, and not long-term. Also no NTC. I would be glad to keep him, even though he has struggled. He's still a 30-goal-guy.

Hey, speaking of La Banquise.... they should definetly add the Price to their menu. They could also call it Emo poutine.

Said yes for the simple fact i'm not against it. Wouldn't give him a raise from what hes making now but i would take him back at the same price if Gainey is not able to find an upgrade for him

I don't know what happened to Ryder this year but the guy does have back to back 30 goals and I got to think he will be able to get back into form at some point. If the price is right I'd be glad to see him back, if not then I wish him luck where ever he goes.

As always, if the price is right, nab him. He's been good before. He's young. He can be good again.

Ryder's indifferent play cost him millions ($10M+) really.

I think he could have commanded $3.5M for 4-5 years. He's going to be lucky to get 1-2 years at $2M.
