Sportcourt can damage your pads, so it's worth it to invest in some covers for your pads. They're basically just bags you put on your pads for roller hockey, and I've found some from Eagle that cost as little as 25$ CDN.

Personally, I would just get another pair (cheap-o's) on like ebay (used or not) and look into slide plates. You can read about them here ...

I play ice as well, and I used my ice pads once to play some roller hockey. Last time I'll do that. I'll eventually get a cheapo set to wear just to play street hockey if I ever do so again. This court was asphalt though, I don't know about other surfaces.

I played for two years on sport court with ice pads and it didn't do as much damage as one save did on the painted asphalt ... ebay, man, I'm tellin' ya. Good luck ...

Sportcourt and flightdeck aren't much to worry about as far as wearing out your pads.

Roll-on and asphault, on the other hand... get some cheap pads.

Same applies to wheels.
